Is there any hope for my flippa auction?

Hey all writing this thread because i am really confused. I am selling my second website on flippa but just dont get it. I made the auction 3 days long, now 15 hours to go the auctions stats are the following: Listing views 49 ; users watching listing: 5 and i have 0 bids. Compared to first listing the stats were half of this but 15 hours to go i had already 60$ in bids.(and thats how auction ended)
Is there any chance i make at least some money in this current situation? Other thing I am curious why 5 people are watching and no has made atleast a bid?
Also please share info about your auctions, how did the whole auction went on? How many days do you make your listing? Whats stats do you get? Is there any way to get more views to auction for free?
Any info is appreciated!
Thanks

In my experience with Flippa auctions or any auction for that matter most of the bids come within the last few hours to minutes of the auctions ending. This sometimes extends the auction longer than the created time because two bidders go into a bidding war. Your auction lurkers could be watching the auction to place a bid at the last minute to try and win the auction at a steal. I'm a firm believer in getting fair market value out of an auctione if I've given all details to the intersted prospect.

Most bidders won't bid until the last day because they don't want to get a bidding war started. Some are merely interested in the auction, but will not bid at all.

Some sites go unsold. Kind of bites, especially with the exhorbitant fees you pay to list, but that's the reality of it.

I don't know what site you're selling, but I will say that in my experience people are slow to buy a site that can't prove any income. Even if you have proof of income, people are still slow to pay more than 6x monthly income.

Flippa is a dud marketplace for most sites. You really need to HYPE your site to hope it sells.

5 Hours to go and 4 bids - 15$ -havent put a reserve so this might be the final amount i receive. Even if this happens i am not goingt to quit. This time i will persist until i succeed

In your description on Flippa you make reference to another site - Best SEO Results Apart from the colour scheme, it's exactly the same website as you are currently selling in your signature. I think a lot of potential buyers will be put off by that.

You paid $39 to sell it for $15? You can't persist too often with that business model.

Well, if not, you can learn from this auction and do it better next time. Good luck with your future flipping.

I'm waiting for your next post if you recover what you had paid $39 to sell your website, from your bidding moment, I'm also learning!

I just viewed your auction, but when I then went to view the site, I was getting page cannot be found. Might be my connection, but I am able to see everything else I've visited. It might pay for you to make sure there is no hosting issue at the moment.

    Update:
It's Ok, I can see it now.

Indeed....most people wait until the last minute to bid. Even if you don't sell your site...don't be strayed from this business model. I know people that make 5 figures monthly creating sites then selling them. If this is what your looking at doing...selling the more successful sellers and see what they are doing...why they are selling so much.

This works in any area your trying to make money in...not just online....find the most successful people in that area....and research research!

hahaha Flippa is such a scam place, just previewed some listings from a couple of successful sellers, and i noticed one common thing- Each one in super many of their listings have a bidder like this one-Bidder 2has bid on 673 listings from 254 sellers. Obviously they have a second account to boost their sales and extend their time.

They get caught and Flippa does care. There was another discussion the other day on why two sellers were banned. That was the reason they were banned.

Thanks for sharing sbucciarel, some people might really get banned, but i already found 4-5 people that have done this and are still doing it and are not banned. Also they are making some decent money (:
But who knows they will probably get banned if they continue like this...

How much you were expecting, did you sell any new sites on flippa after this, any pointers you want to make so that it helps others?

I know it is a bit worrying at this late stage but often people don't react and place their bids until near the end as they onviously want to get the best price and aren't too keen on showing their hands first.

At least you have watchers, all you need is two people that really want it to set off a bidding war.

On one of my filpper sites there was only one watcher i knew wanted my site but come towards the ending time and another really keen bidder reared their head. Back then flippa extended each bid by fours hours. The bidders and myself ended up stay up 48 hours waiting for it all to end. I got a great price that day, was very exciting.

Depending on how much your site is worth, you could advertise your listing on the front page of flippa. I usaully get another few watches doing this.

    Good luck!

I currently have a site listed at Flippa for auction. I followed the advice I read over the net that the best way to do it is start the auction at $1 to maximise the number of bids. I have 11 bids in the first four days, all under $200. Then suddenly I accepted the bid which jumped from $120 to $1200. By that time I had 30 people watching my auction. The moment I accepted the latest bid, all 30 watchers disappered. Kind of weird.

That is weird. I am selling one of my sites right now as well because I have gotten way to busy with my offline business. I hope things go OK. Good luck to you!
