Are you networking via PM?

And no I'm not talking about senselessly spamming other members of the forum. In fact, where applicable I always encourage other members to contact me via PM to further discuss ideas, concepts or methods.

Sometimes, I'm the one reaching out to other members trying to get more detailed information if they so choose to provide it.

This is a community after all, and I thoroughly enjoy the communication I have between other members with a private message. These conversations aren't really promotional in any matter, just two marketers having a good discussion.

Sometimes this leads me to add their email contact info, or even a skype username. Even if we can't talk about marketing I'm sure we can share stories about a favorite beer.

I'm always reaching out. Why? Because there is always something to be learned from networking with like minded individuals. Even IF that networking is taking place through a forum private message system, email or even skype!

It's always a good idea to send someone a PM and meet new people. I recommend sending someone a message saying what your all about and how you are interested in talking to them.

There's no shame in trying to make new friends online!

Never anything wrong with networking. I'm new to this forum but I'm sure it's the same for all affiliate type forums: Don't message the "big boys" with an empty hand and expect anything in return. Too often I see people complaining about how so-and-so is a dick because he just ignored my message... blah blah blah...

Well, did you offer him anything constructive? Did you comment on what you think he could have improved on in his last offer? Or did you just waste his time?

Like you said OP, if you want to talk about beer, I'm all for that. But this isn't exactly a forum for shooting the breeze. I imagine some people might see it as wasting their time.

I've had plenty of discussions blossom into full fledged marketing discussion after discussing beer in my private messages. Don't be so quick to judge something as wasting time when it's simply friendly chatter!

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.
