Hey everyone

I found two niches.
One has 4,400 global monthly searches and 2,900 local. And only has 503,00 results on Google with the number one ranked site only having 3 back links.

The next niche has 18,100 global monthly and 9,900 local. It has 3,110,00 results on Google with the number one ranked site having 8 back links.

Which one would be best to use?

Thanks a lot

I'd go with the second option but, maybe the fist is about a more profitable niche and then could be good option too

But my advice is go with the one you like more

You really need to see how strong the competition is for each niche, for the first and second page of search results. If they are both about the same, then I would go for the second one. You want to be sure you don't have big players on the first page, because they can be hard to beat.

With that few backlinks dosn't seem to be strong

Althogh I don't think is good idea to base a proyect in competence because things can change, better to base a proyect in quality

Theres another factor I forgot to mention. The smaller niche is more spefic then the larger one. I could incoprate the smaller niche in the larger one with its own seperate page on one site. They are both in the same broad niche. Like, learn to play piano , for the large niche . Learn to play piano for kids the second niche(these are only examples).

I'd go with the second option since the first is included there

3 backlinks compared to 8 backlinks is not really much of a difference.

    I would do the following:

    1) check what kinds of backlinks they are. If they are lowly backlinks from PR 0 or 1 pages, it doesn't really matter whether it's 3 or 8 backlinks and you will outrank them pretty easily.

    2) The number of results on Google does not tell you much about the competition. It's the top 10 competitors that you are directly competing with and you don't care about the rest.

In fact, a keyword could have 1,000,000,000 results on Google but if the top ten competitors are weak, you can rank for the keyword still pretty easily.

So I would go with the second keyword, but of course you also have to take into consideration the CPC, commerciality...

Obviously the first one will be less competition compare to the second one whic hhas more than 3 mil pages to compete. If you have a very competitive keyword then you might need to do a lot on backlink and good seo. It has no point if there is a high monthly search on that particular keyword but what the visitors found is your competitors page and not yours. you need to consider your seo if you want autopilot traffic. cheer!

look for another niche, find high searches keyword with medium or low competition... you can find those using long tail keywords.

I would go with the second option. The reason is because in this business, competition is an indicator of profitability; meaning that the more competition there is, the more opportunities to make money (more products to promote).

How would you find out the CPC?

How are you intending to monetize these niches - Amazon? Ebooks? Adsense?

I could use affiliates and I was thinking about using adsense even though I never used it before.

Do both, if you have alot of time on your hands. Shouldn't be hard to infiltrate both niches easily.
