Facebook ad or newspaper banner?

Our free classifieds site is giving away tickets to a concert and we have about $1,500 for web advertising. The tagline is "Post your free ad and win tickets to the concert!".

Through the web, we have two options:
1) 300x100 banner in a popular newspaper homepage. Cost is about $1,400/mo. According to Google Analytics, it receives about 2.5M hits/month. It's not a rotating banner so it will always be there.

2) Facebook ads: I'll be spending about $600/mo ($20/day). The total audience for the ad would be about 2.7M (that's what it says when I'm creating the FB ad).

So what do you guys think? What's the most bang for the buck?

The first thing that comes to mind is the quality of the audience. With the newspaper banner, I know that the viewers at least know how to read and are interested in something. With facebook ads, that's not the case. I made a few FB campaigns in the past and I got some real crap.

On the other hand, FB is much cheaper.

Thanks.

Facebook offers more profiling but is offset by the fact that the clicks just might not be there. You might be better off with a newspaper banner IF and only IF it is a highly targeted newspaper .. for example: LA Weekly = entertainment focus

If you offer freebies (the audiences no need to buy something) FB can scored well, also because you can pick your Target Audiences profile (age,interest,etc..), but... in my opinion the best way to find out is to do BOTH just make sure you track the clicks (there are many websites offering tracking service) so you know which one do better or you can do both in turn (this month FB next month Newspaper). Have a nice Testing!

I think you should try Facebook Ads.
Because facebook gives you the rights to find target people. It's focus on your products which is in a group, interest, favourite of people.
    Facebook is a smart ads.
