List building Newbie Question About Autoresponder Content

Hi guys,

Just a quick question, I am starting to build my first list and its in the IM niche i have no content in my Autoresponder but its ok i dont have any subs yet !

I`m in the process of doing my first solo ad and all i have to offer them is the welcome mesage in my Autoresponder.

I`ve been racking my brains and looking at what other marketers send their list within the first 5 emails and theses a few nice touches from some marketers but nothing ground breaking or what i couldnt do.

But yesterday i had a email from a marketer whos list i`m on with a kind of early bird special on his soon to be released product which is some kind of softwear which finds high pr aged domains.

Now this is a area i`m interested in and i actually have my own blog network with PR4 & PR5 domains along with adsense sites sat on bought high PR domains, now this is a area i know a fair bit about !

So i could really offer this as the first product to my new list as i know alot about this subject.

The question i have is, If i check out the product and its quality and i write to my list do i add this to my auto responder or just send it as a one time broadcast ??

Thanks Jim

Don't over think this. The biggest problem these days is that people over complicate things. Just keep it simple. Put the message into your follow ups and keep adding to your follow ups with quality content. I wouldn't have it as message number 2 though. That maybe too early to start promoting. Your first few messages should be free quality information to build that initial trust.

Another thing i would suggest is to have congruency with your emails. If your goal is to set up a list just to promote offers to make money, you will find it difficult to get your messages opened. That's a big problem these days. We are all on many lists in the make money online niche and it's very easy to ignore marketers who don't provide enough quality information in the beginning.

I know it's early days for you, but you should have a sequence of about 7 emails set up to build trust. What are you giving away as your freebie? What information are your subscribers looking for? Congruency is very important.

When you have a large enough list you can then send broadcasts. When I send a broadcast to my list and it gets a good response, I then add it to my followups. Some marketers would rather just send broadcast to their list and this is fine. You do whatever you think works best for you.

Once your goal is to provide value, solve problems and help your subscribers further their online career, you can't go far wrong. As I said though, don't over complicate things. You will get a feel for this as you progress with your list building and decisions you make then may be far different from what others tell you now and what you even think what's best yourself right now.

    Best of luck.

sending affiliate products to your lists is ok now and again but your main priority is to build your own list of buyers and then segment them

adding affiliate products into your funnel in your follow up sequences will work a lot smoother and would be less intruding

i personally don`t include any affiliate products in any of my follow up sequences instead i just send lots f free content and now and again i send out a promtion as a broadcast if i come across a really good product which i like

there is no 1 way suits all, you just have to test things out and see what works best for you and your list
