Creating Affiliate Programs The Right Way

There is probably nothing more talked about then affiliate programs as a way of making money on the internet. The only problem is what is the best and most efficient way to create the necessary links? What is the most efficient Affiliate Software to monitor this type of program? What is the best way to create and maintain these programs etc.

For example, I am about to enlist a very important affiliate. I am currently using IDev Affiliate as my affiliate program. If I want to have the affilaite send potential customers to my site I can either have them sent to a Squeeze page or to a Sales Page. First question: What is the best way to handle this issue....Squeeze Page or Sales Page.

OK. Next....

If we send potential customers to a Squeeze Page how can we be sure that the affiliates link will be passed through to the sales page. One of the larger affiliate programs really has no way of doing this nor does IDev Affiliate. Any suggestions?
