Recruiting an affiliate force

by dwt 12 replies
What is the best way to find and recruit the most successful affiliates to promote my product or service?

I realize I need to provide the tools to make promotion as simple as possible, but finding the most aggressive affiliates is a mystery to me.

Any advice?

Thanks!
David

You need to put your product in front of those who may be interested in promoting it. How to do that: Go out and promote your product. Once you have visibility you will notice more affiliates are joining. That worked for me.

Of course you can spend lots of time looking for them and trying to find ways to contact them. I am sure there are some who were successful at this. However I think if you have a good product, pitch page, aff tools, demand, etc. affilites will find you, not you find them. Why is this important - you want affiliates who are experienced in your niche, who have existing infrastracture to promote this product, etc.

I have had publishers approach me in packs and I did not take on their products for various reasons, mainly I was not convinced enough their product was good, there was demand for it, pitch page was not up to par, questionnable quality (overstating product which could result in high refund rate), etc. However I am always on the lookout for a quality product.

Hence, you want affiliates who can appreciate and see value in your new undiscovered product and see the potential of your product because they are EXPERIENCED in your niche. You want affiliates who know what they are doing. Those are not frequent, but they are the ones who FIND YOU and APPROACH YOU.

The best way to find successful affiliates is through job hiring I guess. Or just simply promote is in PPC campaign.

Also try promoting the product like mad yourself as the more you get the product out there the more affiliates will see your site.

Have a look around at the results in your niche for your main keyphrases and contact some of the sites there.

Also make sure you have good affiliate tools and you will be off to a good start.

I agree with activetrader, affiliates naturally attract to high quality products, even if it's new or not yet discovered. They can judge for themselves whether there's money to be make in your product, how well it will convert and whether it's worth throwing PPC traffic at it to refind their campaigns.

      1) Direct Marketing - Find people on social networks such as Twitter (can be done using twitter search or twellow.com to find keywords or categories), or email other Internet Marketers you know, but most importantly make friends with them beforehand so they have trust for you.

      2) PPC Campaign - Create a webpage especially for affiliates, and promote it using PPC, stating the benefits for the affiliates throughout the page. Don't forget to include a sign-up form to save them the hassle of e-mailing you manually.

      3) Promote Your Product Like Mad - As stated in a few posts above, just promote your product as usual, including a link to your special affiliates page in the navigation bar or in the header/footer/both.

      Hope i've helped

      - James.

I think one of the best ways to get affiliates is to use a blog. Start talking about your niche. Add great content and add often. Promote your blog and have a link to either your affiliate page or to your sales page where there is also a ling to the affiliate sign up. Make your sales page attractive so that possible affiliates will see the value.

It also helps to build your own list. Then you can do ad swaps with other people with lists.

Warrior also has a JV forum here you can visit to post in to attract JV partners.
