What is and how does a Proxy work

I keep hearing people mention them and that they are needed in certain circumstances for SEO and so on. Im just wondering how they actually work, what they enable you to do and what perks they have. I here a lot of people talking about using Proxy's so it looks like they are in the US, which helps their traffic come from the US and so on.

I've also heard it enables you to look like you live in the desired country, IE giving you access to their TV listings etc - Netflix Im thinking.

you nailed it right there. alot of people use proxies when using other software to not make it look like spam when they are backlinking or getting YT views, it helps leave less of a footprint so big G dont hammer your site.

Both of you are correct..I've used private proxies for when I use Scrapbox. Essientially scrapebox will run through my proxy list and use one proxy per each comment it submits. The added benefit is to make Google "think" it was a different person commenting and hence not one person submitting multiple comments. Proxies also help with allowing you to be incognito, since it isn't your IP address, you can never be linked to what you do online.

if you want to do the bulk task on Social media sites, SEO link building, Bulk posting on any big site which restrict ip basis and there is many more reasons to use them

Then you will most need Proxies instead you can't post all things with your ISP ip simple
