Question in the title asks it all. Just wondering.

The point of an article directory for those that write articles is the site being a favorite of search engines. Nobody cares if you write a spectacular article if the article directory has such crappy seo work done on it that its never found through search engines. If its not found, people dont click links, if nobody clicks links, nobody goes to sites, then nobody buys stuff. If directories can't get traffic, nobody wants to post to them

Which script are you using? Most of the popular scripts have plugins which automatically receive articles from the main submission services like isnare.com or articlemarketer.com You can also advertise your directory at various webmaster forums. Andrew |

Find a unique way to market your directory. There are a lot of directories out there, but I don't think too many of them are actually being marketing seriously.

Josh Spaulding started one by offering prizes to the people who posted the most articles in specified time period. Probably the quickest way to get yours off the ground is to ask Steven Wagenheim to post all his articles there. ![]() Martin |

Hi VS, Why not have your directory specialize in a sub-niche, get a toe-hold/foot-hold/arm-lock on that SPECIFIC area e.g. home business ideas for the disabled (over 50 million Americans); gold prospecting/fitness/dating for seniors etc etc and then gradually expand 'sideways' into other sub-niches. As a frequent user of Article Post Robot (400+ directories), I know that many of those sites are pretty weak. Why? Because IMHO they are too too general. Reading Jeffrey Lant's "Cash Copy" (an all time marketing must-read) will hopefully give you inspiration. The world doesn't need another me-too EZA 'all things to all people' directory but it always needs laser-targeted, high quality, specialized-audience-specific content. Best of luck with it VS! |

Wish I thought of that. Shoulda made it a niche directory, but it's pretty general with lots of different topics.
