Default Alternatives to EzineArticles?

Hi all, just registered and I have a question already :-)
Would be great if fellow warriors could point me to alternative article directories other than EzineArticles. I know they're supposed to be the best one to submit to, but after getting really annoyed with their increasingly strict submission process, i was wondering where else I would be better off submitting articles.

Many thanks for all your help in advance.

After Ezine articles I would use

You'll get different votes from others, but for what it's worth, I've been doing article marketing for several years, and the top 3 that I get the most consistent results from are these: EzineArticles.com, SearchWarp.com, and GoArticles.com. EzineArticles is clearly #1, but the combined traffic and link juice from all three far exceeds what I see from the cumulative effects of all the others I've ever tried. My advice is to focus the majority of your efforts there.

Good articles are selling articles. This is a very important point in article marketing. I suggest you focus on getting your articles accepted at ezine. If your articles are not yet good enough to be in their database, there is a good chance that even if you submit your articles to another article site, it wont sell.

Do everything to get into ezines favour.

Good Luck

Spadger,

My advice would be NOT to take anyone else's advice on what article directories you should submit to. (Except the one TKO mentioned above)

You shouldn't base your decision on someone else's arbitrary list of directories they found doing a search in Google, or a list of directories ranked by Google PR and Alexa rankings (I do think milan's list is the best and most up-to-date, though), or even a list that they found to be highly successful.

Here's a tip that I've never shared before in public.

EZA and big time marketing techniques aside, I have found that all three of the major search engine rank article directories in their SERPs by category.

In other words, Website-Articles.net may rank highly for articles about 'herbal supplements' while ArticlesBase will not have any results for that category. At the same time, ArticlesBase may have thousands of rankings for articles on 'dog training' while Website-Articles.net may not have any.

This is why, again short of EZA, you should not rely on someone else's list...because that list is based the successes of that persons niche, keyword choices, writing style, and many other factors...or the list is nothing short of a guess.

What you need to do is sit down with your keyword list and start searching. Go through at least the first three pages for each keyword phrase in each search engine.

Before you know it, it will be totally obvious to you which article directories you should be submitting your articles to.

There's a lot more to it, but this should get you started and on the right path as far as the directories you should be submitting to.

Respectfully,
Allen Graves

By far, the best is ofcourse EzineArticle. Its true they are getting even strict nowadays with approving articles. All those rewrite article using software doesn't work anymore.

But you can still try Go Article and Article Base. However I don't prefer Article Base because our article is so compressed by the width and they have ads on the top fold which makes click throug rate of our links lower. Anyway, if you can get it right at article writting, you should stick with Ezine Article.

Plenty of article submission sites to choose from. I was wondering the same thing about alternatives to ezinearticles... then I ran a bunch of them thru Alexa, to see which article sites got the most traffic. Ezinearticles had by far the best Alexa rating.

So I decided to run original articles thru EZA, then re-write them after they are published, then do an article blast to a bunch of other directories.

I've seen a lot of reference to GoArticles lately, but I honestly haven't seen much of them in the SERPs this year. Are you guys really getting a lot of traffic from GA? If so, can you provide an example or two? I'd be genuinely interested in seeing them.

Have any of you folks tried Associated Content? They pay a few dollars for each article you write, and they rank pretty good too.. not as well as EZA and a few others, but they get some SERP love too.

Associated Content - associatedcontent.com

There are very few article directories out there where you can EXPECT to find top-quality content. Associated Content is definitely one of those few.

You (generally) won't find typos or bad grammar or obvious keyword phrase use...the kind that jumps out at you and says, "HEY - this article was written to rank for this keyword!!!"

Allen I agree with you in that different article directories rank better for certain things.

We have some articles in GoArticles and they do quite well. They have been there for a couple of years and they are time specific and each year they do really well.

I have found Buzzle to be next in line behind Ezine. They have become more strict with certain article requirements but there link resource placement and placement in the serps have out done that.

I really, really like Website Articles.net. You get free tutorials and up to date information on what make articles rank in Google. Not only that, but there are no ads on the page to compete with. You can even put in pictures and videos, which is unique and not allowed anywhere else that I'm aware of.

Allen Graves offers great support and there is even a forum for members. I definitely recommend it.

Another thing to take into consideration are a couple of new statistics that I am currently working on. They are VPA and CTA.

You see, people are always saying how well Buzzle and GA and AD do in the search engines - but they have millions of articles indexed...of course you're going to see them a lot in the search engines.

But what if there was a way to find out the ratio between live articles and how many vsitors those articles generate.

VPA stands for visitors per article. For instance, Buzzle has around 2,000,000 articles and they get around 5,000,000 visitors per month. So their VPA score would be 2.5 (that's 2.5 visitors per month per article - and how many of those are your competition?!). As another example, Website-Articles.net only has 2,200 live articles, but they bring in around 11,000 visitors per month, so their VPA score is much higher, over 10 visitors per month per article.

The VPA is something that should be seriously considered when deciding on a place to submit articles, so I am attempting to create a list of any directory who will work with me. List coming soon.

The other stat is CTA, or Click-throughs per article (per month). This too should be seriously considered, however I think it will be much harder to get article directory owners to give me their click-through stats. I will also be creating whatever list I can to include this stat as well.

So remember, just seeing a lot of SE results from Buzzle.com does not necessarily mean your article is going to rank too! In fact, the odds are against you when you are competing with 2 million other articles and they only average 2.5 visitors a month.

AL,
That is some great info you have pprovided in this posting and your other postings throughout the thread. I'll be anxious to see where your directory is in about 12 months - Doing well I would expect -

Bottom line is (and you already said this earlier) to submit where Google tells you to submit. You find that information out by conducting a search for your keyword phrase and if you see an article on the first page then you submit to that directory, you see a squidoo page then you build a squidoo page, you see an ehow result then go make an ehow article, you see a blogger blog then go make a blogger blog...etc

It's total domination to the 9th power.............
