Are you Looking for a Mentor? They are paying you

Looking for a Mentor?---They are actually paying you-

I don't think people actually recognize how much a mentors time is worth...

Let's say your dealing with a marketer who is going to teach you 100% Free and he makes around $100k a month...

You need a lot of help because your brand new...thru the emails and skype chats...you take up about 15 hours a week of his time for a month.

Lets take the average 40 hour work week....

His going rate is about $625 an hour....if he's getting $100k a month

So during a month's time he is basically paying YOU $37,500

As you have used up 60 hours of his time for the month...

I know most people don't look at it like that...they will write myself or someone doing well online and just randomly say...hey can you mentor me....

When in reality most of us with 60 hours can create and launch a new product....or have another revenue stream going that would make us $50k+ over the next month.

I'm not saying don't ever ask people that are successful to mentor you....just realize what they are giving up to help you.

Now that you see they could basically be losing 10's of thousands of dollars to help you....next time you write someone to mentor you..perhaps leave more then just a few lined email...

Tell them why you need help....what you have done so far...

Tell them that I am willing to follow exactly and quickly any steps that you have laid out for me.

I want to offer a few tips when your looking for a mentor...

--when you are getting a mentor 100% Free--

First make sure he/she has actually done what they claimed they have....search on Google for them...even ask in the forum.

When they offer to be a mentor for you...at no charge that is...

Please make sure you follow their steps exactly as it's laid out...and quickly.

Don't complain when they tell you they want you get hosting or a membership site etc....

I once was mentoring someone and I told them they need to get this manual so we can move onto the next step..it was like $10....they complained and said...wow do I really need that...I don't want to have to spend an extra $10 if I don't need to....

When your dealing with someone who is making $50-100k a month and up...they know how to make money....don't complain about the small investments they ask you to make.

Hopefully this helps people understand and maybe appreciate more what peoples time is worth that are helping you...

Don't be afraid to ask anyone he is making a lot of money in any area for help....just realize how much they are giving back

I think everyone should give back....at any area you are in....I mentor people all the time....offline and online....there's no use just taking all the time...giving to others is an awesome feeling!

Wish everyone the best!

Giving Light to your Life

I think your info is spot on about the amount of time it takes to help someone out. I have been a mentor to many people in areas other than internet marketing and I find it very fulfilling to watch someone grow knowing that I helped them out and showed them the way!

After writing this post you are probably expecting a ton of people asking you to mentor them, and if not you should, because you seem very competent.

Anyway, I am new brand new to IM and am going to do just that. Would you be able to mentor me, or help me find a mentor? I have a full time job so covering little expenses would be fine, such as hosting or what ever other miscellaneous things are needed.

No i'm not looking to get rich or even make a bunch of money of the start. I truly just want to learn the process, so that in time I will have a solid foundation which will benefit me in the future. I have roughly 15-25 hours a week I can devote to this, probably more as i'm sure once I have some direction I will be addicted and choose work over sleep haha.

So far I have been going trough the forums, watching tons of videos (most seem to be vague pre-sale promotions, but that's expected since anyone who teaches IM is doing just that..IM.) I have set some small goals. But I think with the guidance of someone who has already walked the path I can improve my learning curve drastically.

Hey Cropsey how's Phoenix...besides hotttt lol been there a couple times myself..

      First of all thanks

I'm actually already mentoring 1 person right now....so that's all the time I'm allotting myself in that realm..thanks so much for asking though!

I think it's great to have a mentor....I actually never had one online..someone to teach me methods or tips...so all my success online has been thru tons of research and my mastering method..

...but I have an offline mentor....he didn't teach me anything about making money online..but I believe more important is he gave me a "no one can stop me' mentality. If you have that within you..you will find a way to make money and grow your business...no matter what walls may be placed before you.

So even if you don't have a mentor online yet...no worries....

I would suggest you find an area that you are most interested in...study every website...blog and video related to that area...such as list building.

Find the major guys that are very successful at listbuilding and see what they are doing to make $100k+ a month. Study and research everyday..then start putting it into practice...

Master your one area...don't ever jump to another..and you will be successful...no doubt.

Hope that help...wish you the best in the desert!

Thanks for the info!! Im new to phoenix so yea its really hot lol, but i love it here so far, I have way too much free time which is why I stumbled on IM. Its cool that you only mentor one at a time, i'm sure they will do great.

I think the biggest difficulty with this is getting started, or just knowing a general idea of how to start. But with so much info out there it can be overwhelming and very misleading. could you maybe recommend some good sites/blogs/videos/courses for a complete newbie? I'm having difficulty determining a niche to go with. It seems like the areas that I know the best are in the super competitive markets i.e. nutrition and fitness. and my knowledge isn't on par with the authority sites. would you suggest simply choosing something that i only have some interest in and little knowledge and try to make something out of it or do you have to be an expert on your niche?

Welcome! Indeed tons of information...but that just means that just about anything that you need an answer on...you can find online

When I'm going into a new area...it all starts with a google search....then finding videos....what has given me a ton of good info and ideas is interviews!

I'll use listbuilding again as an example....let's say you find someone doing very well in listbuilding....search them on google but type in "interview after it....(name interview) most of the time you can find something on them...and they will be giving a ton of free information...

So perhaps look around and see what areas are interesting to you the most...I seen you have a snowboarding pic up..you could create a product about snowboarding...do a blog....put on youtube videos on how to snowboard etc....funnel them into your list etc...many ways to go with making money in the snowboarding realm..thats'a huge are...

Once you find your area...just research research and apply..you'll do fine and you will make money if you don't stop...just don't jump around if after a month your site isn't doing well...keep and it and it will..

          WIsh you the best!

Biggest niche market is selling other information of how to get rich.
What do you think when you see warrior selling to other
"how I got 1000 usd in just a week or what ever"

Maybe I´m crazy but I always think if someone is truly making like this and can repeat it the last things he would do is go to forum and sell it for 9 or 19 dollar

      Or what ?

        Hey Tofrar!

There is a lot of over-hyped material...but there is also a ton of good wso's out there...I've bought many and got a lot of info that has helped me in whatever area I'm currently in....

You will see many warriors on here that are making $20-100k on a single launch here in the WF...so yes it can be very profitable if done correctly.

It's a great way to grow your email list...make some profits..but also help some people along the way :0

I have a long time friend who I belive makes around 2000$ a day, but this is an assumption I did not see his stats, I did see his bank account though...and it was impressive...

I asked him to show me, he said he would in exchange for 15% of my profits before taxes, which I tried negociating to after tax but we were at a party and well, the time was not right. Anyways I would be ready to pay 15%...I mean...it is way better to have 85% of a big pie than 100% of a small one. Making 85% of what he is doing would still mean being stanky rich after all and I dont know IM a lot, but to get on top, there must be some techniques that very few end up getting a grasp of by themselves !

Unfortunately, he has not been returning my calls or texts, and I understand why, it is because his time is very valuable so I know what you mean with this thread. Anyways I am not pissed at him it is his right to not help me, although deep down I wish he would lol

Oh well...I guess I will have to learn the hard way, by myself, like he did...I bet when I know what I am talking about, he will gladly give me some tricks he uses, what he does not want is to spend 30 hours a week showing me the basics that I can easily learn by myself.

I am willing to work hard alone, the reward seems very well worth it !

WOW, Do real helpful mentors really exist for free?

At $100k a month, why would they mentor? Bill gates sydrome, giving stuff back?

Nah, still not convinced. I can understand it if they want you do do grunt stuff in return or write articles or whatever, but still at the cost of their time, and what most people could afford to pay, I dont get that it really happens, unless we are talking scams?

Is that too RASH to put out there in this kind of forum, full of contented rich people just willing to help little ol' people like me?

Go on, mentor the hell out of me, I dare you ...

      Hey Bruce..how's AU!

Yes it happens more than you think....I know many people that are making over $100k...and have helped people and no cost...and not wanting anything in return....

I made about $500k last year...so I'm no where near what any of the bigger guys are making...I still consider my earnings very small compared to what they are doing...but I have helped people 100% no charge....

Sometimes you just want to give back...once you learn how to generate money quickly...it's very rewarding to see how you can help someones life and get them free also.

it is money to make money
for someone who just start, they are mostly broke, or not have large capital
as such, it is not about the investment, it is about the survival
if they have a lot of money, then they do not need mentor
it is just egg or chicken 1st, some get egg right, some get chicken right
but not all invest in mentor success, can you name a mentor who is 100% success to help every one? i am sure not, it may come to 20 : 80 ratio
sorry does not mean to offense, just for discussion
anyway, i still feel you are good

    Some good advice there Lyfe.

Once trust is established thats a good foundation to work from.

Remember too that just because someone may be successful in one field and not another - doesn't mean that they won't successfully have the skills and abilities to initiate change and growth in an individual.

Hey Fsn! I actually agree with both things you said....not everyone gives back and helps other people...some people just stick to themselves and never share...
You for sure don't have to have a mentor to be a success....I only had an offline mentor...who is extremely motivating...though I had no one ..not one person tell me how to make money online....that was on my own

      thanks!
