[Attention Syndicators] - would this work?

I read several threads on this forum posted by Alexa, myob and others.

I want to work for free to learn article syndication from someone who has been in the business. Basically I am looking to trade my work for learning the business.

I would like to do some ground work before approaching someone. What would be your concerns if someone came to you with this offer?

Also, if you know someone who would be interested in such an offer please let me know.

Why do it for someone else when you can do it for yourself and make the money? I'm not sure how well a work for education trade would work put. Eventually you'd move on and I'd be sittin on a niche written in someone else's voice: not an ideal asset for a long term syndication marketer if you ask me.

A paid coaching service might be a better bet for you, to be honest. That or a guide teaching syndication. I know, I know, you want a freebie. *Shrugs* I want a date with Crystal Reed. We'll see which happens first :p.

Although you weren't specific on what "your work" would be, I'm presuming that because you want to learn syndication, it would be your writing.

The flaw with that thinking is that those who are experts in syndication are well syndicated because of their writing talent and skills, so allowing someone else to write for them, especially someone new, just wouldn't make sense.

Do you see the flaw in your bargaining chip?

I haven't seen someone offering paid coaching for syndication. Do you know someone? They seem to be usually busy with their own business. That is what I like about them. Minding their own business. They are definitely not making money by selling "how to to make money" guides.

If what the syndicators claim is true. It does not make monetary sense to them to sell coaching. They seem to be making at least a few hundred dollars each article. So, what I am offering should be worth their time. What else can be better than a new source of income for them? If that is not the case then they don't know what they are doing.

How about I up the ante? I pay you and work for free

If the money I am giving is to make sure I am serious it is good. If that is going to be paying their bills I dont think they are making any good money.

why do it yourself when you can do it yourself? Does nt it shorten the time taken for me to do it myself? are you telling me someone who is syndicating for a couple of years does not have much to give?

@Miss Terak: I am assuming someone would use this to start a pet project of their own. That is what I would do.

If you are wondering about what to do with the project you start with me. There are several possibilities. You can have complete control over the project. You can keep the list in your account and you can share profits AFTER you think I have become skilled enough. This way you can make sure I am hooked to the project.

If you are worried about me leaving the project even after this. Is it in my best interest to screw up someone who taught me stuff?

Joe said it. You're better off just doing it for yourself. The work you'd be doing isn't hard. You need to find syndication outlets. Then you need to contact them and ask if they'll publish your syndicated content. That's it.

Of course, you've got to write great content and keep really accurate records of which article went where and who you've contacted and when and what did they say and so on unto infinity....

Mostly it's tedious stuff but very profitable if you stay with it.

Ravi, I've recommended this course s many times I'm starting to sound like a shill...

Before you pay someone to work for them, track down a copy of Paul Myers' "Content Cash" course. As I recall, it's under $30 and worth a lot more.

As far as the writing aspect goes, you develop that skill by doing it. You write something and people can't get enough of it. You write something else and it flops. Take a look at what's different and try again. Eventually you find your voice and your audience. When you do, you get a lot more hits than flops.

There you have it. No need to pay me or work for me. Just make a success of it and pass what you learn on to the next person who asks...

I agree, you can start doing it on your own. If there are thing that are not clear for you, you can always ask for help or read books or look it up on the internet. Or you can always post your queries here in the forum. And we would be happy to give advice.

hello raviandkanth, first off all I want to ask what is your ultimate goal when you learn article syndication.

Cause if you are using it for SEO ranking purpose than I heard that it affects the SEO rankings, I suggest writing quality and unique content is better than article syndication, so suggestion is to spend more time and focus in writing quality content than focusing article syndication.

      With all due respect alamest,

Writing quality and unique content is absolutely necessary to having articles syndicated, with out it, no one would want to syndicate the article, or in other words, post and share your article with their own readers.

It can't be quality and unique content vs article syndication as they are components that go together. You can't have one without the other.

So the recommendation should be spend more time focusing on quality content for syndication.

Correct, if you want all your work to do its best job for you, you have to have both.

Working for free may not even be the best option for you, as it does not really provide much beyond a narrow scope or niche-specific experience. The learning curve can be steep without an understanding of the core basics of writing, marketing, and sales. And besides, you've already got some of the best training by a wide variety of professionals in the article syndication industry laid out for you right here in the WF.

What I demand as a minimum from all of my writers is that they read and apply the generally accepted basics as described in such books as "The Elements of Style", by William Strunk and The Associated Press Stylebook. Other helpful resources are Turn Words Into Traffic by Jim and Dallas Edwards, and The Writers' Market. Consider also taking some journalistic writing and sales/marketing courses at your local college or university.
