Some freelance websites are losing my respect

I think the freelancing industry is getting ridiculous. Yesterday, I posted something about how cheap the programming cost is going to be. Today, as I checked some freelance websites for translating jobs, I found more funny bids. BTW, I am writing my first novel and will be needing some literary editors so I checked some freelance sites for possible skilled people. I found some intriguing bids.

Someone posted a project asking someone to translate a French fiction novel to be translated into English. It's about 75,000 words. The person is asking a native English speaker who understands French very well and requested other nationalities to not to bid. He also stated to not to use any software as novel translation needs emotion and not just word by word translation. To my surprise, all 16 bidders are from India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. I am not saying that they are not capable of translating a French novel into English but why they bid when the project creator clearly stated that other nationalities should not bid? Not to mention the background and profile of these bidders whom most are programmers and writers, why they are putting that freelance site to it's lowest level? I didn't see any bid from either an American or French yet. I just find it weird.

Some people are doing ridiculous, unreasonable, and embarrassing things just to cash out other people's money. Do this people doesn't have self respect?

I guess these are the guys who are just out to make money. They pick almost any type of work and have their "team" work on it.

Without considering the project creator's request, I think they are putting themselves into shame.

From what I have seen, I do not believe any actually reads the job description. They probably just hit "apply" to every page they can.

True. That's why when creating a freelance job offer, I always put the very important detail on the last part of my message. If the bidder didn't follow that request, then I know he is not reading the details...

I have seen so many posts like that on freelance websites. I think Indian people just bid on everything without actually reading what needs to get done.
