How to Make Software... Is it Hard?

Hello, Warriors.
I realised that I like technical stuffs and I have been thinking of delving into software coding or able to make build software.

As it is, I do not have any background knowledge of coding. If I wish to start, how do I begin and how long will it take me? Is building software hard?

I would like to learn it from home, more like DIY scheme.

I downloaded an ebook which explained the possibility of using software building program to make any kind of software. How efficient are this kind of program versus coding from scratch.

I have my eyes on the future and would like to make application for marketing purpose.
Thank you.

Best way to learn is by doing But guidance is always necessary; at least so you can start off on the right foot.

Would you like to learn how to code for PCs/MACs or for the Web? Once you decide, you can look into beginning your journey by buying beginner books for one of the more popular languages or scripts such as VB.net, Javascript or PHP. Books are great because you can always reference them.

Just visit Amazon and type in the programming language you'd like to learn. Then start reading the actual reviews. You'll find that the best books/guides have many positive reviews.

Of course, there are online sources for learning as well. For example, W3Schools.com and WebMonkey.com.

Now, how long it takes you to learn this depends on your ability grasp certain programming concepts. But worry not - I sure you can learn them.

As far as "software building programs" are concerned - I've never used them. But if they can make your life better, hey, give em' a try.

    Best!

    Hi,

If you have a couple years time its all good
Don't expect to be able to learn how to make decent software in a few months though!

Programming is however doing and trial and error. And just a little reading (a good programming book would be a reference guide only nothing more).

Also I disagree about the guidance thing.. it is NOT always needed. This depends very much on your own personality and how you learn best. Do always use google no need to reinvent the wheel all the times (but sometimes it is!)
