Hey guys!

If at all possible, could you take a look at my site? I'd love to hear your opinion on what you think can be improved...thanks!

mirrorpunch . com

Here's what I've accomplished so far:

1. I'm on page 2 for one of my keywords (de-ranked from page 1), and my keywords have just gone off the radar for the other two variations (de-ranked from page 6 and page something, I don't recall).

2. I've done some link building, but I'm covering quite a wide range of keywords - I have one campaign for my main keywords (3), one campaign for long tail (4), and one for "gold star" keywords (3) as denoted in a software. I've also included link variation to include general, non anchor text optimized links in response to penguin.

3. Here are some of the traffic methods/software tools I've used:
a. Article submission software
b. Blog network
c. Video submissions
d. Web 2.0 (squidoo and hubpages)
e. Social bookmarking
f. SENuke
g. Blog commenting
h. Press release

4. I used a store called SaleHoo, but it really hasn't been doing so well for me.

5. For traffic, I'm getting a low visitor count even when I was ranking on page 1 (on position #8 or something), and these visitors weren't converting into sales. Bounce rate is close to 80% and average time on site is horrible...something like 8 seconds.

6. Is it purely coincidencial that the day I installed Analytics and Webmaster tools, my rankings took a hit two days later? I thought I should do a bit of tracking, and the platform only allows Analytics...

I'd love to hear your feedback, thanks!
Baggio.

    Just going through the site quickly I did not see a phone number or physical address. I definitely would not buy any physical products online without seeing both of the above.

    Hi Mate,

    Try uploading high quality photos. Presently, it is looking dim and dull. Overall, the site is great.

      You may also want to get a secure website certification from someone like McAfee or Verizon. People like to know that their information is secure.

      Thanks for the advice...I actually wanted to do that, but unfortunately, the store imposed a 200 MB restriction on the photos I could upload. After hearing from everyone, I thought, what the heck, so I'm just gonna redo the store from ground up and get rid of the platform. Thanks for the suggestion!

      Hey guys, sorry for replying so late, I've read everything everyone posted…LOTS of great suggestions, so I just want to thank you guys for taking the time to check out my site!

      Once I'm done, I'll update this thread again…thanks!

      Have a great week and best of luck with your marketing endeavors!

      @Robert T Jillie

      A great suggestion…if I can afford one, I'll get it, thanks!

      @100KAffiliateManager

      I know what you mean…I didn't really think of that, in the beginning, I was just trying to organize my categories to snipe the keywords I'm targeting, guess I was lacking consideration for the actual visitors!

      Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely do something about the contact us and about us pages…the latter in particular.

      @robg1
      Yes, I've heard that given as SEO advice for ecommerce stores as well…it's gonna be one hell of a job doing descriptions for over 90 products…but I guess it'll be well worth the time!

      Thanks for reminding me

      @sketteksalfa
      Yes…unfortunately, I plan on taking the whole site down, and that'll take a bit of time to get the store running again…you're absolutely right - contact info is basic for any business, once I get things done, I'll post my results here again!

      @David James
      I'll heed the tip with the keywords…I agree that the ones I'm targeting are a little too generic, and the competition are too great…

      @affilorama-portal
      Thanks for the suggestion with the blog and social networking, I'll take that into consideration when creating the new version of the site…thanks!

      @Usmile
      Thanks for the comment, Usmile! I actually didn't like the layout and the lack of text as well…when I revamp it, that'll be one of my big considerations - to develop a USP and something that I can really attract customers with.

      @young-Money
      I agree that the web design is horrible…while I can't afford designer grade ecomerce sites yet (goodness knows how much these cost), I can put up a more sales/SEO friendly website…thanks for the post!

  • Hi Baggio,

    Can't comment on your product range as I have not checked search volumes etc, but you definitely need better images plus zoom facility or additional close-ups. If I was spending $175 + on a mirror I really couldn't base my decision off the images that you currently have.

    You also need to expand your 'About us' page a bit more, at the moment it's more like a cheap advert (I'm not saying this to be nasty, I just want you to know the impression that I get when visiting the page) - take a look at some 'about us' pages on other web sites and take some ideas from the better ones.

    Your 'Contact Us' page could be a major factor in your lack of sales. Your items are in the higher price bracket - $175-$300 but you only have a very vague address and no contact number. Personally, that's one of the first things I look at before making an online purchase and yours just gives the wrong impression at the moment.

    The site's easy to navigate and well laid out otherwise, so I would start with the 'contact us' and 'about us' pages and then look at improving the images. I'm sure that it will improve your time on site, lower your bounce rate and improve sales.

    Wishing you success.

    Chow chow,
    Kevin

      I would add one thing to the above, the descriptions are pretty vague. I would like to see more information on a product that's in your price range.

    You still don't have contact information. Who would buy specially from the internet when you cannot guarantee anything from the source. I think that is pretty basic for any business. =) Just a piece of advice

    Agree with the above regarding contact info, About us and more detailed photos.

    Check what keywords are bringing you traffic - that might account for the high bounce rate.

    Also work on your text descriptions. More variation (currently all descriptions are quite generic and similar to each other) and longer content should help with both SEO and sales.

    Good luck

    For one, you really have to improve usability in your website as well as supply more information for buyers. Probably you can also start a blog and perhaps also be visible to social networking sites like Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. And yes I agree good photos always work well.

    Good luck!

    I would like to add up on comments because when I look at your site, the first thing that comes to my mind is dry and lack of creativity and life. I suggest you put a landing page that basically talks about what is the benefits and features of your product rather than flooding the buy cart and emphasizing the dollars.. I think that way it will keep your viewer interested and wants to know more..

    I wish it helps a little bit..

    good luck on your website!

    Nice site but I think you need more colours. Using good graphics will make your site stand out.

    Everything seems okay in your web site. However we would like to recommended you that go with EV SSL / Extended Validation SSL which turn your browser in Green Bar and also certificate notification will appear at your address bar. Entire update status will boost your customers trust and confidence while browsing and purchasing online.
