Quick update on my Twitter success...

Hey everyone 2 weeks ago I posted something about how I got 900 twitter followers with 3 hours of work. (Original thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ours-work.html )

Well it's been 2 weeks and my count has grown to 1270+ (see TwitterCounter Stats: We Track & Analyze @nick1123)

I did this by just tweeting about stuff I had posted to my blog. I also started a program where I stumble peoples' url for free and that got me even more followers.

So 300+ followers in 2 weeks is roughly 20 new followers per day.

I think the total amount of time spent over those 2 weeks is about 3 hours and most of that time was for the free stumbles.

I am telling you this not to brag but rather as an illustration of how easy it is to get followers, keep them, and grow your followers base.

It's easy to get a few followers, but make sure they are are the kind of followers that are interested in your tweets.

It's a lot like email marketing- find people interested in your message. (It's also what Seth Godin preaches)

I have a blog that I write on each day and it takes just seconds to tweet about the new post using twitterfox. (See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5081)

So what does having all these followers do for me?

It's gets me traffic.

Every time I tweet about a blog post of mine, within seconds I get traffic to my blog.

The key here is that people are actually interested in my message and so they follow the links I tweet about!

And as my followers grow in number, so does my traffic.

Now some urls I tweet about get more clicks than others and I can track this using tweetburner (see: http://tweetburner.com )

Posts to my blog with more clicks are assumed to be more useful and desirable.

Using this info I can write things on my blog that audience cares more about.

This results in more traffic and more retweets, which results in more followers.
