Is The Medical Niche a Risky one?

Hey Guys, so I have been interested in the IM business for quite sometime now but have never really done much with the information I have gathered! But the last few days I decided to go for it! I launched my first product in the "Medical Niche". The product I am offering is genuine and not some con, it has worked for two of my friends who have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome themselves. Sorry I forgot to add, that the product I am offering is not a "Cure" for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome but a quick tip that helps relieve pain.

I am just wondering, is it really possible to make money from this niche, or are people to nervous to buy from since I have no real scientific proof that the product is genuine. I am just worried that the medical niche is just to hard to sell digital products too? Am I right in assuming this ?

Also what do you think of sales page ? (I am going to re-do it a lot better but opinions on it will help my re-design)

http://howtocurecarpaltunnelsyndrome.com/

I have been promoting the site on forums, I have used AdWords to drive traffic and I have got over 54 Unique Visitors in the last 16 hours. When I re-design the site I am going to offer a free e-book if they are not interested in purchasing the current, at least that way I have grabbed their emails so I can then promote them the solution again via e-mail.

So any advice from you guys will be much appreciated?

My first MMO venture was in a similar niche. It's made some cash, but I regret trying to monetise my medical knowledge. Sure, I'm not a medical doctor, but I did cure a condition I had myself, and that's more than my doctor did!

However, you cannot possibly imagine the rage people will go into when they have buyer's remorse on a $17 medical eBook.

Maybe I'll close down my eBook sales and just write on my site "yeah, I cured XXX myself, but you know what? F*ck you, I'm not gonna tell you how I did it".

    Hey there

A way around this is to work / JV / Interview somebody who IS a qualified medical expert, so you are running the mechanics of it, but they are telling the story / the face of the product. I'm pretty sure this gets around any legal problems. Ahhhh, at this point, this is where I say "however, I'm not a laywer, so you need to investigate this yourself further". ....but you know what I mean. Hope that helps some what.

The medical niche is extremely lucrative, but also a subject of intense suspicion, scrutiny and litigation. You may experience excruciating pain from regulatory agencies if customers begin complaining/reporting your product, assuming there is a followup to the ebook. Consider another domain name, product-specific disclaimers, and ditching the red flag "Doctors have not yet discovered this incredible pain free solution".

Health niches can be very successful and very worthwhile.

I'm not a lawyer, but to me, the wording and structure of the page you've linked to above strongly suggests that appropriate legal advice may be needed urgently, in an attempt to avoid potential adverse regulatory and/or legal interest in your business.

Yea man, I would say you definitly need some legal advice here. The wording on the page is very decpeptive and could be seen as a cure. Also, your URL says "How to cure CTS". That is a huge red flag, get your butt covered before someone sues you.

    Hey, thank you everyone!

The last thing I need is to get into legal trouble, I think I might take the site down for now and go get some legal advice.

    Thank you very much!

I chose entrepreneurship over further education despite being laughed at by my friends and family..

I recently hit the "RESTART" button on my life, read my personal blog to find out how I did it :)

The problem with such products is, that the vendors often overpromise, and underdeliver, and take advantage of people which have a real medical problem, and are often desperate for help.

Be careful with what you promise.
