I need some IM ideas for my WAHM group.

Hey, Warriors!

I have a local WAHM (work at home mom) group. There are about 30 members. (Think Avon, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, etc.)

They have asked me about doing a workshop to teach them how to use IM in order to have more customers find them.

In doing some research to prepare, I have found that there are a lot of searches for things such as "buy Tupperware" (1300 searches per month) and "Tupperware peeler" (880 searches per month). Other companies have similar search results for specific products.

My theory is that these ladies can use the same principles as any affiliate marketer and use those techniques to make more sales.

There are people looking to buy what they have - they just need to make sure they help those people find their site.

Am I right in thinking this way, or am I really off base? :confused:

ETA: I am going to be teaching these ladies how to set up blogs for marketing purposes.

    Right on target. I used to work with another company (haven't done anything with them for 2 years and still getting a check every month). Anyway - still get the leadership magazine and there are several people who are "high" in the company (making lots of money) and are using IM to find people who are interested.

    Blogs, article marketing to drive to the blog, sales pages, video presentations, Facebook groups, Twitter, built around good SEO, with optin for follow up - are all things that work in this market.

    Now, if I can find a spare minute or two I'll be doing that myself for my WAHM company and increase those checks again

      I think that is a great idea! Between improved ease of technology and growing interest in online social networking, more and more people are turning to the Internet to market their local business activities.

      If you can lead a seminar focused on blogging, SEO, social networking, etc., you will be doing your WAHM a great service for which they will be highly appreciative.

            I did a search for a certain Direct Sales company on there and there was not one single mention of that company on Twitter!

          I do think it's a great idea! I love the idea of teaching others how to do IM. It's so exciting to see the power of IM. How do you plan to help them generate traffic? What comes to my mind is forum posting - along with other things. What do you think?

            Most of the more popular companies actually have people searching for "XYZ company rep" or something similar. They may have had a rep but the rep moved or quit the business.

            There are also people searching for particular company products, like a Tupperware peeler or a Pampered Chef Batter Keeper.

            Still others are looking for generic items that certain companies have, such as "lotion bars."

            I plan on helping these ladies help potential customers find them using IM - blogs, social networking, articles, etc.

            I am also going to help these ladies develop mailing lists, etc.

    It sounds like fun.

    Since you're looking at keywords, why not introduce them to article marketing? You can surely find some examples of people in these kinds of businesses using EZA to full advantage.

    I would consider showing them and teaching them as a group, the Conduit method using those brands of products, etc...

      Thanks, Mike!

      I am going to have a one-day workshop. I just wanted to make sure I had the right idea with the affiliate marketing approach. (I like the Conduit Method, but I am also using other ideas and resources, too. )

      These wonderful ladies are going to be my guinea pigs. :rolleyes:

      If it works well and they are getting results, then I will offer it to other local WAHMs. I want to eventually package it up so it doesn't have to be a local, in-person thing.
