Hey everyone. I've been using AWeber double opt-in for years. Then I started funneling in traffic to Email Aces single opt-in and I can't stand that autoresponder. I don't really want to use AutoResponse Plus for single opt-in because I don't want to use a dedicated server and all that mess. Which do you prefer for single opt-in? AWeber or GetResponse? I know AWeber is known for high deliverability, but for their single opt-in service, I can't see them protecting deliverability all that much. ...So I'm thinking it's probably about as good as GetResponse single opt-in but more expensive as your list gets into the high 1,000s. |

I've been with Aweber for years too. As far as I know, Aweber requires double optin. I'm thinking about switching to GetResponse because of it, even though I've been very happy with Aweber otherwise. I guess that doesn't exactly answer your question... but Aweber is off the table for single optins. Best Wishes, Arvada |

Getresponse without question. I have been using them for single optin for years without issue. Aweber "allows" single optin but at the hint of complaints they will switch it to confirmed. |

Thanks for your reply. ![]() AWeber does allow single opt-in, but not when you're already switched over to double opt-in. I've been happy with AWeber... just not happy with losing so many darn subscribers because of double opt-in. I also believe single opt-in provides a better "customer" experience. Because they don't have to go through the hassle of going to their inbox and confirming. Instead they can just download the freebie or go to an OTO then download the freebie. Jason

I'm an Aweber customer for many years now and was wondering from you Getresponse customers....how's their deliverabilty rate? I've always liked Aweber because of this but am not fond of the double opt-in either. Ken |

In my experience, Getresponse and Aweber's delivery rate are basically the same. I'm sure they will argue that point but I've never seen a substantial difference in either one that would make me choose one over the other. Many big names use both and I also have lists in the xx,xxx range with both. But all my new business goes to Getresponse. |

On my list for my ebook "Recessionary Income" I have something like 2-4% do not confirm with GR. I usually use single opt-in, but because my course has some perceived value in this case only a small percentage are not managing to confirm or are not getting the email. I conclude that GR deliverability must be excellent. Much of my promotion for the course hasn't been targeted at IM savvy people at all so I don't even expect them to understand double opt-in, yet they do confirm, almost every one. This is just an isolated test. If you put a carrot in front of a donkey he'll do stuff to get it. If getting on your list has high perceived value you can expect double opt-in to work with GR. I usually use single opt-in because I prefer not to make my subscribers hassle with confirming. |

I'm primarily having trouble getting the double opt-in in giveaways because people are in "get a lot of stuff mode." They're signing up for tons of stuff and all excited about getting free stuff. Then they have tons of confirmation e-mails in their inbox they don't get to. It doesn't matter what my thank-you page says, my confirmation rate stinks when doing giveaways and I've lost THOUSANDS of subscribers. So the next one I do, I'm going to use single opt-in. Probably with GetResponse.

I have been using single with GR for a bit now. And have no issues at all. Stuff gets delivered and I am happy.

I've been using GR loads in new niches recently... over the past 2 years I have found that single opt-in has performed better overall in regular niches.. But in the IM niche I just prefer the security of double opt-in, even if that means losin' a few... GR is my choice for non make money niches.. Aweber for the make money niches.. ![]() Peace Jay |

I have been using getresponse and have been happy with their service. When I was looking at aweber and get response I just got a better vibe from GR.There was just something about AW I didn't like. But that is my own personal feeling. Good luck. |
