I've been out of IM for a couple of years. Just found the Warrior Forum and got sucked back in now (it's addictive) but anyway, what is working to get attention on Youtube?

    There isn't a single "best" way and using a mix of strategies is best.

    If you are an active, respected member of a forum that allows embedded Youtube videos, you can get views from that.

    Press releases

    Twitter

    Commenting on other videos

    Getting your video as a "related" video on popular videos

    Ranking your video in Youtube and Google search

    ...etc.

        Like with anything else you can take shortcuts (basically buy views) and maybe you will see a short term gain, but you also may get your videos or even your account nuked. I have gotten the most views on my videos that were quality and offered enough value to keep people looking at them.


        A white Hat approach would be to embed them on your FaceBook account and any other social media accounts you have, forums related to your video content (as someone mentioned) and on any blogs you control yourself. Also join other channels that are related to yours.

    There are services that sell "artificial" views that will help your video rank higher. These kinds of views are not risk free though.

    If you are looking for organic views (which you should) then I suggest:
    Only put up quality content, Post content on a fairly regular basis, Create social media accounts connected to your youtube account (for promotion).
    If you do that and your videos are up to par then the views will start rolling in.

      I'm going to go along with the other posts here, VAGEX is good becuase it they are real views and they are slowly fed, and it can be run free or paid ($5/month for 10,000 views which is dirt cheap). I will mention that this is "grey hat" since you are artificially creating real views.

      White hat, I would say press releases are an excellent way to get lots of views.

      Fiverr I would be extremely careful since some of those are probably "black hat". If you go that route make sure they have lots of positive reviews and check out any negative reviews. Also use some common sense.....100,000 views in 24 hours is probably gonna be artificial bots ...lol

    Most marketers will focus 1) on creating videos that are helpful and solve a problem AND/OR are viral in nature (like cute babies, funny animals, etc.) and then 2) send traffic to that video within 24 hours of it being uploaded by:

    Emailing your list
    Posting on Facebook/Twitter/other social media
    Posting it in forums
    Embedding it on your blog
    Emailing it to you friends

    The more initial traffic you can send the video, the better chance it has of ranking well for keywords internally to YouTube and in search, and the more likely it is to be seen overall. So if you're going to focus on video traffic, it's good to focus on traffic as soon as you upload your videos.

Follow up with a video service/software to increase views. Mention this interesting video on appropriate forums.     Here is my trick that I used to get around 700 views for my YouTube video within 2 days.
    I searched for a high traffic video related to my niche and I found a YouTube video that have more than 40000 views with in 2 months. Then I posted video response on that video.Luckily I got approval for the video response my video have only 119 views before that.After posting the video response,I checked my YouTube video views 2 days later.I'm surprised that I got 800+ views within 2 days.800 views are not a great amount but it is enough for less effort task.

    fiverr is great if you're looking for social proof but if you want your viewers to do something like buy or join it may not be the best route...

    Make sure you have your keyword in the title, description, and tags...

    The most important aspect of your video to get views is make it interesting, and entertaining... Think about videos you see online.. the one's that are boring reviews don't get any views, but then you see grandma breakdancing and look down and see there's over a million views...

    Why... Its entertaining. So make sure you entertain your viewer and they will be more willing to share and have it go viral.

      Now a days I don't do youtube marketing as much. As i have already got what i wanted out of it. Which is leads and traffic to my sites!!!

      Sometimes you just need to be a little sneaky and tricky with marketing your videos on youtube. A few months ago i was completely lost when it came to getting views on youtube. Then i found a great blog post that showed me how to get more views and traffic, it was crazy when i first started seeing success with those videos .

    Real people interested on your topic: I think the best way is to optimize your video with the keyword you want to target so it can show up when people search on youtube's search bar.

    Just views: you can get those in fiverr, some of them provide real human views but they are not targeted

    Post a high quality video and just leave it. Focus your energy on creating more videos instead of marketing them. If you have posted timeless content, it will take a steady growth. In 6 months you would have received only a few hundred views. But in 2 years, your views will be in thousands.

    Have you tried using social sites for promotion. Seems like that would be a great place for advertising video since people are usually on there killing time anyways.

    Remember not to over look the same tactics that you use to get and maintain reader attention on a website. A catchy headline, relevant and quality content, all wrapped up in lots of promotion.

    Free alternative to above method is to use Firefox addon called Reload Every. IMO, it's useful to get around the first 200 views for free.

      The "Reload Every" method can get you stuck at around 300 views for a long long time, even after that you get a lot of traffic. The meaning of this freezing is simple - the system is just checking how genuine are the views, if you are unlucky... you can get stuck for a really long time.

    my opinion, relevant, niche related keywords. Keep the marketing to a minimum in the beginning until your views start to snowball. Buying views/subs is a bit dangerous unless you are willing to lose your account(s). Commenting on other videos (while avoiding the comment spam filters) works wonders too.
