How to keep Track of Email Opens...Looking to create a Solo Add Offer

Hey everybody. I am going to offer a solo ad service. How do you know the amount of emails that are opened when emailing?

    If you want to do it yourself then you need to embed (hotlink) an image from your server in your email body. Then you can see from server logs how many times the image has been accesses and from what IP addresses. You can also use .htaccess file and mod_rewrite to launch a script each time the image is accessed so you don't have to deal with server logs later. Too complicated? There may be easier ways.
