What is your motivation?

In order to succeed, you must be motivated..

For me:
There is no better motivation than seeing Adsense earnings, Clickbank commissions, CPA conversions, Amazon sales, and Paypal sales receipt in my accounts every time I wake-up early in the morning... This makes me work harder..

I love to see the money roll in when I check my merchants account but what really motivated me was my family and the support they gave me. Because to me there is no better motivation then to hear that "you can do it and I believe in you". Best of luck to everyone.

Traffic is my biggest motovation. I remember when I went over 1000 visitors per day and thought that was a big deal. And it was at the time.

That was the first time that I felt, hey I can do this!

I agree with you. I actually just like doing all of the "work" lol. I go to bed at night and just sit there thinking of new ideas or what I need to do tomorrow, but wish I could just do tonight, etc. I rarely ever want to go to bed, but I try to make it a habit to go to bed at the same time as my husband. My relationships come first.

The motivation is to be self determining. To affirm to myself that I can create my life and be proactive about life rather than reactive and passive to it....by accepting the expected outcomes and expected pathways that are handed to us.

In other words, I can control my life without letting others control or manage it for me.

The motivation is always learning and working towards those goals and aspirations.

My motivation? It's seeing the results of my efforts. It's addicting really. The best drug in the world probably. You build something, the traffic arrives with promotion, and then BOOM all of a sudden it becomes a run away train.

Sometimes the BOOM takes a little longer with some projects, but it's always there. Why? Because I stick with things and work them till I see success. I love that feeling when you've done something and can see measurable results. Doesn't even have to be money, could be traffic, sign-ups, etc.

Freedom - I do not want to depend on an employer in my entire life.

Do what I want whenever I want - I am not dreaming about being rich. I just want to earn enough to do what I want to do.

For me $ 1000-1500 / month would be enough. Some of you that's not enough but here in Hungary that's quite a good income per month.

I need an income source, which is only depends on my skills related to online marketing as my studies and my hobbies are all connected to that. I want to implement what I learned and obviously I want to be successful.

By the way recently I focus on Kindle - not just for the money but because I can say to my friends that I am an author. (They will easily understand that but if I talk about IM they are not sure what I am thinking about.)

I'm pretty sure you're projecting your motivations on everyone else.

If you read the thread, you will see that there are many motivations. The things you mention may be motivations for people, but they aren't necessarily the primary motivations.

Regardless, the main thing is to have motivations that are big enough to get you past the stuff that gets in your way.

"the more reasons you have to succeed the more chance you have of succeeding.."

For me it's a long list

    1. The freedom to live life on my terms.
    2. To be with my family
    3. To see the world
    4. To be a positive, contributing force in the world
    5. To live in a big beautiful house in Hampstead (London)

    My motivation:
    1. To prove to myself (and to others) that I can make a success out of this!
    2. To supplement (or replace) my husband's day job income so we don't have to struggle to pay the bills.
    3. Be a stay-at-home mom and home-school our two kids.

There is nothing stupid about going to university, that's a great motivation!

Just remember your original motivation once you start making good money. It's not uncommon for young people that have tasted some success to change their outlook and decide that they no longer need any further education...

HAPPINESS. That's the ultimate goal. This is what we seek with everything that we do.
"Those who say that money doesn't buy you happiness don't have it!"

This doesn't mean that you can't be happy without money...it just means that having it makes it easier!

That's why I work hard to make a lot of money and why I go to the gym to look and feel good and I why I eat well for the same reasons and etc etc etc etc

HAPPINESS is the end goal! Go get it!

It good to see and feels how each and everyone of us have their own reasoning to keep oneself feels motivated especially when it comes to making money.

Although money can be part of the reason that drive our motivation to be successful, I humbly believe that it's all started from something else (from the root where we first begin) as well before the drive of making money come into place.

So what could that be for anyone of you here? As for me.. my true reasons that really motivate me is to prove myself that I can be successful as well, the needs of developing financial health, staying healthy, freedom, your loves one and having the choice to do what I really loves doing.

I would say all of these factors weight into life planning which all started with a goal setting in mind.

I think being motivated depends from people to people. As per the Maslow’s Hierarchy theory of self actualization people get motivated and fee self sufficient depending on which tier they are. For example healh, money, family ties, or love.

As for me my biggest motivational factor is the health of my family and a smile on people face when I am able to help them succeed. This gives me satisfaction and motivates me to help people to make their bsuienss dreams come true

This never did it for me...

    Material means nothing.

Relationship's along with my physical/psychological/emotional and spiritual health mean everything. My motivator is remembering all of the free time I will have to focus on what truly matters to me (listed above) once I have an automagical business as a wingman providing me with cashflow.

I also used another strategy. Finding a bigger fear than fear of failure.

Which is the leading killer of motivation, inspiration and action.

The bigger fear absorbs the smaller one.

And it is this: Fearing not living a rich and quality life due to lack of physical and cognitive movement and growth.

What motivates me is remembering every single time my happiness, energy or finances were dependent on someone else and they screwed up so I lost as a result. Every time someone didn't listen to you and failed, each time someone put politics or selfishness over serving their market and lost and each time you had to focus on meaningless tasks, meetings or priorities at the expensie of making a difference...nothing gets my blood boiling more and nothing gets me more motivated to do things on my own!
