Clickbank new strict product approval...might as well switch

I used to be a huge fan of Clickbank.

I have a couple products approved by them a couple years ago with a breeze. Haven't done much but working on a few things.

Now I have just completed my first product in 2 years and now trying to get it approved, and i"m shocked by how much strict and regulation clickbank now requires for a simple product approval. (I'm not in any marketing niche btw)

First they required me to put their new Clickbank Footer Disclaimer at the bottom of the sales and thank you page...not just the disclaimer but the actual java script with their tracking to back to them.

"ClickBank is the retailer of this product. CLICKBANK® is a registered trademark of Click Sales, Inc., a Delaware corporation located at 917 S. Lusk Street, Suite 200, Boise Idaho, 83706, USA and used by permission. ClickBank's role as retailer does not constitute an endorsement, approval or review of this product or any claim, statement or opinion used in promotion of this product."

I find this to be unnecessary and redundant, and not only that but this code actually creates a few extra vertical spaces between the last sentence and the footer menu. This creates a huge gap at the bottom which doesn't look right for my site.

Second, they want me to disclaim that the name I've been establishing my brand with is a pen name to be put at the bottom footer as well along with their disclaimer above. Now I have to accompany 2 disclaimers making my site look not as professional.

Do they want our business or NOT?

I believe it's time for Clickbank to step aside. They've become so vendor unfriendly.

I'm not going to sacrifice what I worked so hard on establishing my brand just to accompany some new unnecessary regulation on their part.

(Any though comparisons among PayDotCom, 1ShoppinCart, eJunkie alternatives?)

That disclaimer is detailed enough to scream legal requirement. I would guess that it's being required of an insurer or an underwriter unless they are, ore have been sued or doing everything they can to avoid being sued which is most likely the case.

Probably to ensure vendors keep the disclaimer there and don't remove it after approval.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

      All is not lost.

You can go back to Clickbank and ask for permission to only post the disclaimer on the Terms & Conditions page instead.

Very few people will read the T&C page and as long are you are in compliance and follow the new regulations you should be fine.

Just so you know that this is possible, have a look over here on this thread.

Good luck with your new product!

Clickbank is simply complying with all the regulations
that are being put in place. If there's anyone to blame
    for this, it isn't Clickbank.

That said, you can always try to sell it yourself. But then
it'll be much more difficult to get affiliates.

Like it or not, Clickbank is still one of the most popular online retail outlet currently, if you agree with me. So is a loss to you if you give this outlet a miss. So why don't spend a bit more time to comply to their need, since you already spent 2 yrs to build your product.

Just my 2 cents of thought

At least you got an answer. I have had a product for approval for some 3 months now, after their first initial reply and subsequent requests, I complied, and have heard nothing since. Tried all forms of contact and nothing has been done. And I've had products approved in the past...hmm

Did you send 1-2 reminder messages within the website approval ticket system?

Considering some of the crap people have been finding on Clickbank sales pages lately...

(I'm sure I can find more)

I'm glad to see Clickbank rising to the occasion.

Sure, it sucks and is a hassle for people who follow the rules, but I think the changes are for a better affiliate and customer experience. Which benefits all Clickbank users.
