Attn: YouTube Marketers - YouTube experimenting with new layout (bad for marketers!)

The last time that youtube brought a major change to their layout, it really frustrated people who used YouTube to get traffic. That change was changing the description box to the bottom of the videos. All those videos pointing the arrow to the right became the laughing stock among critical viewers.

Today while browsing, I saw a new layout.

The biggest changes are title below the video (LOL! Why?), Dislikes in grey (not bad)...

and... LINKS GREYED OUT!

This change would reduce the CTR by a huge margin because people recognize blue text as links immediately. It shows blue when hovered upon, but the lighter color is sure to make people skip the presence of it

I haven't checked this out myself but the fact that Google owns youtube speaks volumes about 'control' and change to algorithms.

Big wake up call for me with Penguin and Panda.

More than ever creating a good list, building good relationships and giving incredible value seems the best way to go to avoid that interference.

Argh...getting so tired of Google (and by extension, Google properties). Of course you know, Google's changes are always for the benefit of Google, not any of us Internet Marketers.

Addendum: I found a recent article on Dot Tech that talks about the new layout. The article says "it is available only to a select number of users (presumably people who use Google Plus and Youtube). According to an official comment by Google to Engadget, the new design is an experiment and Google will consider rolling it out to the masses based on user feedback..."

    Here's the link. http://dottech.org/web/32881/youtube...y-google-plus/

I don't think it will have too much effect of conversions. I think a little testing will have to say for sure. Update the thread with your results.

    Thanks

Last time Youtube made changes to the Channel page, everyone complained. As it turns out, it increased subscriptions by 50% across the board and subscriptions are great for marketers.

I wouldn't be surprised if placing the title below the video and the video higher up on the page doesn't increase page views. Only way to find out for sure is to test it, which is what I'm guessing they are doing.

I dont think the color of the link will matter either.
I think more of what others have said with it being google owned make money while it last they are sure to screw it up before long.

I'm guessing they are still rolling out this change as I don't see the same layout as you (makes no difference if I'm logged into YouTube or not)

Google and Youtube don't exist solely for the purpose of Internet Marketers promoting their offers? Get out! Really?
