Hello to you all.

I am new to your forum and wanted to say hello and ask a question.

So hello.

Now onto my question/questions. I've created a software product that I believe would be of great benefit to folks selling content online. I've spent quite a bit of time developing it and tweaking it. Now I'm wondering how to price it.

I was browsing through the offers forum and I see a lot of great products. How do you all price your products? Any formula? Any quick and dirty way?

I've seen some very low prices on the forums and I'm wondering how that works out.

Thanks

I would recommend looking at the websites you feel are going to be your biggest competitors. Price yourself about the same, slightly higher or slightly lower based on what you are offering compared to them..

This is also something you should split test once you are getting some traffic. All the matters in profit per visitor in the long run!

Thanks. My product is more of a product for webmasters/marketers/content producers.

It's a pay per view system. The pay per view systems I've evaluated are pretty exorbitantly priced and I want to be able to offer a great product at a fair price. I know, pretty vague but this is my first time trying to price my own product.

Is this a downloadable product or a subscription service? Pricing for subscriptions is fairly easy: charge a small percentage of the expected profit your product will create for your target customer. That does mean knowing something about *exactly* who your target customer is, what kind of added revenue they will be able to attribute to purchasing your service, and what their margins are...

That is good advice sir, I just have no idea how to arrive at that data.

Sorry, to answer your question. It would be a downloadable product.

It is a plugin for wordpress so I hope simple to a lot of webmasters.

It is basically a system to allow users to purchase credits, then spend those credits to purchase posts/pages/whatever content on your wordpress site. The posts/pages could contain whatever you like. Zip files, videos, instructional pdf's, course, whatever you can imagine.

The main benefit as I see it, is the absolute simplicity for user to purchase your products. e.g. purchase credits, then use those credits to purchase only the content they want. No entering cc info over and over, no shopping cart hassle, just a simple way for the user to spend money.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks
