can anyone recommend any articles or sources for information about the click through rates for position on google

searched and found many of the articles were either outdated or contradictory

did stumble across one i found intresting that was broken down to the stats regarding whether the intial search was done for either product inquiry, general inquiry, brand inquiry or long tail inqury ( assuming most of us are targeting long tail but was still a good read )

any suggestions ?

It's going to depend on the niche, quality of other sites on the page, and the searcher.

im not looking for anything too specific, read a couple times things like given the search the top link on google 42% of people who did the search will click on it then something like 35% for the second, etc ...

totally agree with you RogueOne that it will depend on why the search was intiated to begin with, just looking for some general stats
