300 - 500 is a good guide, but an article should be as long as it needs to be to give the information it is trying to give.

Zero words, because SEO articles can easily be a waste of time if no one wants to read them. You're not going to rank for short tail words by stuffing an article full of them, so the best you'll get is long tail rankings, and if you're going to get long tail rankings, then just worry about good content and don't bother stuffing it with keywords.

      Back to the Original Post...

I find that articles between 350-500 get the best results
and they need to be useful but incomplete articles.

The whole idea is to get that sig clicked...so provide some
great content...but dont give away everything so that they
have to click on your sig file to know more.

The best advice I can give you is to write the article
first...providing great content...then fit the kwywords in.

Rather than trying to fit an article around the keywords.

      I hope that makes sense?

      Take Care,

Hmm, providing incomplete articles to get clicks on a signature file is good for immediate traffic, but bad for getting back links. A good complete article will get posted all over the place by content hungry webmasters, having an incomplete article will hinder this.

I agree with Michael. 350+ is what I write. It seems to be working for me. That's enough info so your visitor feels like you know what you're talking about, but not enough to just give away the farm.
