Any knowledgable Affiliate members quick question please?

I just became an affiliate of a particular product/ service where I have a special affiliate code extentention to the landing page url. However when testing the landing page my affiliate code disappears. I'm wanting to assume it's for professional appearance and they have a cookie maybe that if the product is purchased shows the lead came from me? Is that how this situation works?

I know when I go to Amazon on an affiliate link my affiliate code stays in the title. Could anyone chime in here on this for me please? Thank you!

It is most probably a cookie. Just buy a product on your affiliate link and see if you get the commission. P.S. Don't do it on your home pc.

The product cost $150, plus I already own it. I know its a great product which is why I became an affiliate. As much as I love it, I certainly dont want to buy it again.

We could always just skip the speculation and time and ask the vendor/affiliate network .

You should ask the affiliate manager.

More than likely its a cookie. The second question you should ask is how long does the cookie last.

THer are many different ways to track affiliates depending on the software. If it's real good maybe they allow you to insert a pixel into their landing page so you can track the sales

Is it a redirect script to the affiliate page you're trying to do, or is the affiliate link not working within a banner or link on your page?

Hi guys and ty for the replies. I'll just come right out and say its Marketing Samurai as I'm sure many here already use their product and might be able to say for sure. I just didn't want to announce them and in anyway seem as though I was suspicious, more just making sure I hadn't done anything incorrectly. They do have a great product and I know they have a lot of rapport with Warriors here so I'm sure that aspect won't even come into play.

A lot of sites remove the affiliate extension portion of the link but add a cookie to the visitor's computer so the credit of the sell still goes to the affiliate. I sell a couple of such products over private affiliate programs and so far have not faced any problem till date with these.

Having said that, you may want to double-check that with the affiliate manager, like the other have already said.
