Using the word "Free" in domain name?

Hey all, I am planning on buying a domain name that starts with the word "free".

At some point I remember reading that google looks down upon this for SEO purposes, due to all the cpa scammy ads:"free laptops, free games, etc"....is this true?

I am going to dome some extensive SEO on the site, but I want to make sure I am not fighting a battle with the odds stacked against me from the beginning.

Any insights are appreciated. Thanks!

    Hope you are well tonight. Good luck with the venture. Since you haven't purchased the domain name yet consider researching a bit more if the negativity of the word "free" will supersede the positive. Have you thought of some other terms?
