What payment method to use?

Hi, my customer like to start a online bridal dress shop, and the price point will be from USD 500 to USD 3000.

My question is what payment method are popular other than paypal for this high ticket product?

    get a merchant account....I would have my own account and gateway for such a business.

    I don't suggest using Paypal / Google Checkout (funny how they both have the same fees!) - like what centurion81 said, you really need your own payment gateway because for high ticket goods transaction fees will take up a sizeable amount of your revenue.

    I beleive that most payment processors will not accept tickets higher then $500 except in the case that you can offer them some security, to protect them self against chargebacks,first apply for merchant account with an average and high tickets approved at a modest amount ,once you have the account and you do get that crazy big charge you can contact the risk department and get the charge approved that way.
    Some merchant’s that predict having high-tickets above $5,000 may be required to supply additional documentation showing financial stability and a history of high dollar transactions.

      The basis for that blanket statement being what exactly? I've processed plenty of payments in that range and never had a problem. One-size-fits-all answers do not work people, and you look foolish when you give them.

        I have heard horror stories about Paypal but I have used them for over a decade with amounts over $7,000.00 and more and I have never had a problem with them. If you are going to have an excessive amount of payments all of a sudden, let them know what is going on.

    I would stay away from paypal for this transactions. I haven't any wrong experienxe with PP, but for example only on WF are the most of negative reviews about PP so..

      They're selling wedding dresses, not "0-10k for everyone!" IM products so they have a lot less to worry about than some people who have been/will get shut down on here :rolleyes:.
