An affiliate e-Commere store site??

I was thinking... is it possible to have an e-Commerce store site
that "own" only affiliate products?

I mean, like... um.. lets say I be having some gizmo online store, and my visitors
can browse teh pages like a regular store site, but when they decide that
they wanna get a specific gizmo(I.E> click on teh "buy" button) they be sent
to to affiliates purchase page(not the sales page, but the page that's after the
"buy" button on their site).. is it possible?

I thinks that for this to work the publisher needs to have an option to link directly
to their but page with affiliate links.

Did anyone do this yet? if yes can I get some exampels? plz?

p.s. sorry if I didn't make sense :p

Cheers! xD

Tons of people have affiliate/ClickBank stores. There are even scripts out there you can buy to get them set up for you. It's not really my bag, but there's plenty of money to be made if you're good at it.

I certainly wouldn't recommend this type of site for a beginner.

These sites are a dime a dozen... They're very difficult to get going if you don't have lots of capitol to really give it a boost... and if they're not done properly, visitors will just end up confused with all the offerings and go elsewhere, which is a typical problem with these types of sites.

It's much easier to specialize in one particular product and create a network around that.

Is there any particular reason you want to go the affiliate "store" route?

Michael is right though, these are a dime-a-dozen

Re: An affiliate e-Commere store site??

Well.. um... 1st of all I'm not a newbie; been mingeling and learning about
IMing for about a year now and I think that I know all(or at least the most)
major know-hows of the IM business.

Now... From those site's ya can quite tell that those be a rubbish sites at 1st
glance, and I know now that by buing a script ya meant to a pre-made site
template(sorry, I'm not that good with technical terms).

Well, the whole idea came by to me whily watching some stompernet SEO
coaching videos... I was thinking of making a site something like www.a2armory.com
or www.myweddingfavors.com
(not the same theme offcourse, but the major idea of marketing of it).

But instead of owning the actual items I be sending them to the affiliate
buying page when they click on the "buy" button.

Offcourse I mean to have 100% original content and site and dedicate great
effort to promote it.

But still.. from those sites that ya gave me all the affiliate links link to the
owners sales page, not directly to the start of the buying proccess...

All I wanna know if a thing like my above idea has been done (efficiently)
and if such direct affiliate links(with cookies) are avalible, if yes then where?

plz respond! xD

Anyone?? :/

Re: An affiliate e-Commere store site??

You can make them link to whatever page you want. Just use the direct purchasing link instead of the sales page link. Really shouldn't be that hard. I could even script up something custom for you in a few hours if you already have a template.

What is a direct purchasing link? :/
Does ClickBank or CJ support that kind of option?

I agree. I did such a site way back in 2006 and even though I had some downline members promoting the store, it didn't do very well and I had to shut it down. :o I guess it is better to create your own custom solution based on your specific needs and requirements (yep, it is expensive), rather than use any script out-of-the-box. That way you will be able to DIFFERENTIATE yourself!

Or focus on one niche or product and develop a site around it, as Michael suggests. That is what I do these days. ;)

There is more to the affiliate world than Clickbank...

Example site:
Garden Source

Here Here!

Take a look at Popshops.com (not an affiliate link). You can set up an entire store, or just an addon to your site, with their service. I've used affiliate feeds for a couple of years and they have done well for me. Everyone will have their own experience, though.

Check out:

JCE-Tech.com (not affiliate link)

There are several scripts that may be what you are looking for. I have used the Affiliate Master script.

You could also look into:

Niche Content Stores - Your Own Affiliate Datafeed Store in a Breeze! (not affiliate link) Stefan has run wso's before with these.

Both scripts have excellent support.

Re: An affiliate e-Commere store site??

As I said before, I'm looking to build my own site with my own 100% unique
material, so I won't be using any scripts of any sort, just plain old Dreamweaver.

I still don't get it... in the garden-source.com site I've seen a normal direct
product redirect links which at the end of things the costumer may just stick
with your affiliated site and not become a repeated costumer of yours.

What I'm talking about is direct link not to the product page but to the "after
pressing the buy button" pages, I.E. actual paying pages of the designated
product...

As these links usually link to 3rd party sites anyways there is no reason for
your costumers not to think that you are the actual owner of the product and
give you extra realibility points for being the "actual store" - which you're not.

I'm also interested in the site of Popshops.com, does it allow this kind of links?
or perhaps CJ or ClickBank themselves?

Sorry, I guess I don't understand exactly what you are wanting to do. Sounds like you want a co-branded store, or drop shipping store, and you want to build it yourself? I hope someone can give you a better answer because I would be interested reading it.

Re: An affiliate e-Commere store site??

um.. well, let me put it blantly:
I be an Affiliate.
I have a site.
My costumers browse my "Affiliated store".
See good item; click on it.
They get sent through an affiliate link to the actual purchase page.
Example for a purchase page: PayPal -- link too long

Site store checkout page -- another long link

Now.. is it possible to embed those above links with an affiliate link?

Sorry if it was too blunt xD

Re: An affiliate e-Commere store site??

I misunderstood originally too I think.

From what I can gather, you want to create custom content for affiliate products, then put an "add to cart" button on your own page. So when the customer clicks they will NOT go to the merchant's product detail page, but instead they'll have the product added to a cart somewhere. Presumably you'll want them to be able to keep browsing and then click "Check out" or something similar when they're ready to complete their purchase. (If there's not a "cart" involved, you want them taken directly to the "fill in your shipping info" type of order completion page)

Now assuming I'm not still way offbase :) To my knowledge affiliate merchant partners will not allow that. Most of them have all sorts of things in their TOS that would prohibit it, but the primary issue would be legality and confusion.

If a customer adds something to a "cart" on xyzdomain, but then checks out and their payment goes to pqyother.net - they're going to freak out and think their information was stolen. Even if that doesn't happen, they're more likely to claim they never ordered from pqycompany when the charges show up on their card, so this just leaves too much room open for major problems.

There's a lot of detail about how sites like those mentioned above work really well, but I won't write a book here about it :)

Hope that helps a bit,
Kathy

Re: An affiliate e-Commere store site??

Well, the this is that after people click on the "buy" button on the merchents
site they get sent to a theird party site anyways(Yahoo store, PayPal. etc..)
I can't see how one can detect that it's not the site owners product(mine, the affiliate)...

The TOS might be a problem if such a claim even exists, but if I find a good
merchent which I could email him about my plan and get him to comply
because he might see some good income comming out of it I don't see
any reason for him to decline me as an affiliate of his.
