your talking about two things here - site design and function
the front end design and the membership function
ideas re membership platforms have been discussed here a bit
do a search on membership sites
for multiple functions to a site I came across this idea recently
- put a seperate wordpress theme into subfolders to handle
different functions, design a theme so they all look alike
use top navigation to link them together
- for your front end have a html page
you could have the membership in a subfolder
install a wordpress theme here and use a membership plugin
dlguard is another good option
now the marketplace - put a new wordpress in another folder and have the theme altered so it looks like the html page - with all the plugins available you should be able
to find something that fits
if your headers and navigation links all look the same.....
it will look like one site - the advantage being each function is
easy to manage 'cause it only has one job to do
