When scrounging around for niche ideas, I recently revisited the old Yahoo Directory listing where virtually every form of interest, health issue, hobby, business type, club etc is listed (it's at Yahoo! Directory).

This is a goldmine of niche ideas - especially non-IM ones!

The number in brackets on the lists below is how many individual sites are listed there, many have various sub-categories of links,

e.g.
