I was just wondering the same thing.

I am 1/583 for the week or most recently 0/284.

Thankfully, I don't rely on CB as I simply do not trust the system but that is just me.

You have to look at the hops that you have gotten to each individual product. If you have over 223 hops to one individual product then you may start wondering what you need to change (landing page, article content, PPC add) to get it to convert better. Or it may be that a product just doesn't convert that well.

You're promoting 11 different products there but none of them have over 35 hops to it. If I could find ANY product that would convert at 1:35 consistantly I would be rich!

You usally will convert at one sale for every 60-200 hops per product. Your 223 is the total of all your hops for all your products.

I agree with Bryan's comments. But I would also say in general I have been having a negative experience with clickbank. My conversion rates have been shrinking and shrinking....

those particular things you promote are really, really tough. Correct me if i am wrong.

I HARDLY have stellar success with mainstream items like Maverick's, fat4idiots and whatever everyone and their mama sells already. Market too saturated, bids on PPC just WAYYYYYYYYY too high..the math doesnt work if you pay $0.80 click for some "green energy" produdt where you need 30,50,70 clicks to make $30.

CB is and always was good for smaller niches where there is not much competition. At least for me.

ALSO.....if you make a good and legit REVIEW page (like i started doing) instead of directing right to the vendor page...your conversions will drop from 1:80 - 1:100 to maybe 1:25!!
A "pre-sell" review page does wonders!!!

And not knowing the traffic source or keywords targeted its meaningless.

I can imagine some are sending info like this to clickbank and asking them to investigate as to what the problem is.

It would be a total waste of time on their part.

well, its a simple answer of not selling to your audience. Your blog is very good but it doesn't make me want to buy anything. I would hazard guess that all your hops are curiosity clicks.

The spanish course is an easy sell as you are targeting people that want to learn spanish.

Not to sure what you want me to do on your blog - read it or buy something?

If your going to tempt people to buy something how about some useful proof that it worked for you - pre sell as already suggested, don't just copy the bullet points. Tell me why i should buy, how will it help me and why should i buy from you???

Okay, I think there are several factors to look at.

First the conversion rate of different products can dramatically vary.

Try experimenting with other niches and other products. Typically things were items with a high gravity convert better than those with a low gravity.

Secondly, is the traffic that you are sending highly targeted? Are the people you are sending to the product highly motivated individuals who are eager to purchase? If not, your conversions will suck!

I don't know...I just ran my report for my affiliate campaigns (reporting
by vendor) and I'm converting 1 sale for every 46.65 hops.

This has been pretty consistent for me since day 1 that I started using
Clickbank over 6 years ago.

Is your change recent or has it been like this since you started?

It could be a number of factors and without knowing more details, there
is no way to be able to tell you what the problem is.

When I made my first sale, Clickbank told me it had taken 16 hops.

But Google analytics said I had sent over 25 hops (and I didn't start tracking my hops right away so it must have been more).

Statistics and probability theory doesn't work that way.

If products typically convert at 1:100 and you send 1 hop a day to hundred different products, statistically on average you will get a sale everyday.

That's assuming all the sales pages are equal and constant. You are also wrong.

hey thats really good. don't count all the hops. for 35 hops you got 1 sale which is really nice. you concentrate more on that product and leaving all other.

You have too little data to determine anything.

You have one program that has so far converted at 1 in 35, the rest still haven't resulted in any conversions so you can't make a judgment on them. You haven't even sent 50 clicks to any single program.

Typically, I expect about a 1% conversion rate but your traffic is coming from banner ads on a blog so I would expect that to be even lower.

In short, you're expecting too much too soon.

Got to agree with Steven and lindsay most of the products that convert well for me are 1-40 or 1-50 60c per hop is pretty normal. All traffic comes via reviews or related articles

Bryan is right- it's not realistic to send 20 or 30 visitors to a page and expect a sale. Some products do convert that well, but I would send 200 to a specific product before concluding that the product was a dud.

The recession is just an excuse people are using. Yes, it is real, but the idea that people aren't buying anything is just wrong. One of my Clickbank products just had its best week in about a year- it has nothing to do with making or saving money, and is not seasonal, so how do you explain that one?

It's also untrue that CB is not tracking affiliate sales, since some of my products are mostly sold by affiliates.

I'm asking myself the same question. I send steady traffic to a 3 review style landing page, and up until 2 months ago that steady traffic yielded steady sales. Yet over the last 60 days sales have completely dried up. I haven't altered the landing page at all, so I really can't say what the problem is. The economy has to bear some of the blame. People are just that much more careful with their money right now. However, I am slowly starting to subscribe to the increasingly popular theory that there is something seriously wrong with Clickbank's tracking system.

100-200 hops per sale is about right. There may be multiple reasons that account for the drop off. Competition, the economy and maybe even bad press. You might want to do some trending research as well. Remember. These products are no different than an employee and they are supposed to be working for you. If they fail to perform, fire them and find others.

Yea, that would be a great conversion rate if he had 10 sales and 350 hops, but 1 sale out of only 35 hops is not a real conversion rate. He may have just got that 1 person who was ready to buy and came across his site.

Show me 350 hops and 10 sales and i'll say it's a good conversion rate, but there's still nothing that says it's going to stay like that......but i'd keep promoting it and find out.

No Tracking Code, 48 Hops and everything else is Zeros.
