Hello,
I'm noticing a lot more "picky" unzip programs these days...so I'm trying to get on the same page as everyone else and zip files using the same program that most of my customers are using to unzip the files.

Can you help me out by sharing what software you use to unzip .zip files.

There is a poll posted above...but if the software you use isn't on the list (Other), then could you please post the name of it in this thread?

  Ok...one clarification in case there is confusion. I'm just looking for the program you use to UNZIP...not ZIP files. (For instance, I use Windows to unzip all files...but I use WinRAR to Zip them...so I voted for Windows...clear as mud )

I understand your question, but I use Zip Genius to do both. It's free and works great.

Jack,
You left off Unix on your poll... Unix does not need any external software to zip or unzip as the system can do both itself..

Depends upon what system I am on ... My mac systems I use Stuffit/DropZip and my Intel-Mac I do not need anything as it is Unix based.

Windows, 7Zip which is great, and I have been using for about 12 months one that I have PLR for. That's great because you can put your adverts on it, you can create a file which pops open when they unzip etc.

7-ZIP is my choice, it handles .gz. and .rar files a swell and it's much faster than the utility included with Windows.

I use what's ever available on the OS I'm working on. In windoz I'll use its compress file feature, but also use winrar (I move a lot of tar files around and it works best IMHO). On Linux for sysadmin work I use bzip2, since it seems to compress a lot better than the other tools - but its been several years since I've cared enough to investigate.

I use WinZip but recently tried jZip and find that it is an excellent free program.

Won't upgrade the WinZip but will continue with jZip now.

  I have to admit - I get a bit annoyed by not having the ability to use some windows programs and then I see a post like this and honestly don't get it because unzipping has never been an issue on mac.
