CONFUSED:Webhosting Affiliate Business--Which Is The Best Hosting?

Hello, Warriors.

I have been wanting to start promoting webhosting as an affiliate but sincerely speaking, I am outrightly confused at this stage due to the kind of stories I have heard/read about hosting company not paying, specifically with Hostgator.

As a matter of fact, I have planned how I would carry out my promotion but do not want a situation whereby after bringing the sales, I don't get paid.

I am really passionate about this business because I have even planned to use both local and international channels to bring in the sales which is strongly based on offering to set up websites free if they sign up through my link.

I went through their affiliate TOS and I do not see any sign of me violating it.

But I will like to ask a question for what I didn't see on their TOS. One method I chose is to write an article and have it published to my local newspaper but in the article, I want to use a domain name that will redirect to the hosting company. Will I be penalised for using the hosting name in the domain to redirect to hosting company?

Which is a more reliable hosting company to be an affiliate for that you know of?

You didn't read it very carefully :/

Offering a free website for those who sign up through your link is an incentive. Unless you get approval from HostGator, you would be owed no commissions for those referrals.

The vast majority of affiliate programs for non-IM products prohibit incentives because people will sign up just for the incentive, not intending to remain a customer of the company paying you the commission. It's obviously not profitable to pay you $50 to $125 per customer that only pays them $5 before cancelling.

Instead of promoting their affiliate program,I would suggest that you get a reseller account and collect all the payments yourself.

In the past,I have promoted Hostgator affiliate program heavily but now I have stopped promoting them altogether.

I don't know about others but I feel that Hostgator is heavily into lead shaving.

Good call. A reseller hosting account also means re-occurring income from your clients that could end up producing more income in the long run, year after year, than the one time affiliate commission.
