What was your experience in really jump starting your forum? Any secrets you're willing to reveal?

I haven't ever done this myself, but I remember hearing somewhere that it's pretty hard to start from scratch because people like to engage it already established communities. So what this guy did was create like 50 accounts and started creating conversations with himself. Then when new people came on board they felt like they could engage better.

Like I said, i'm no expert in the field, but it sounded like a sound idea for making a forum appear busy.

You could do this strategy but you can also try sites like Postloop where other people are paid to post on the forums that you own. Once your forum begins to gain enough traction, you can begin to look at ways to monetize your forum.

That is pretty hard core. I have about 3 people engaging because it is a point based site where you earn points for reviews and posting on the forum. Points are exchanged for cash.
I will create more accounts and converse with myself
