Generating Traffic Problem

I feel like I have tried every technique on WF on how to generate traffic and I have come to a stand still, and almost a decrease in page views a day.

Here is what I have tried so far
1. Social Media - Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, instagram
2. Craigslist - Ads in several cities (worked really well at first, but now I barely get any hits at all--maybe am I banned from posting too often?)
3. Forums- I try to avoid getting banned as much as possible but not very much traffic.

any other suggestions is appreciated. I have tried blog commenting in the past, and that was pretty much worthless.

I tried forum posting and it works. You are not going to get a ton of traffic to your site each day though. You might get a little here and there. I would look further into paid media such as pay per click of you want faster results.

PPC is my favorite because it gets you results NOW AND TODAY instead of having to wait a long time for your free content to reach the search engines.

I would focus more on your website's content than posting about it off your site. In my opinion there's nothing better to do than start a blog and post to it frequently. Ever site I've ever owned has seen a significant increase in traffic and page views after doing that. It takes some time and patience to get a following and get Google's approval, but it always works if you stick with it!

      Have you considered using Youtube?

I've not checked the competition for your niche (casting), but I'm sure if you post a few high quality video, you will definetly see some traffic coming in.

There is NO fast way for getting consistent targeted traffic apart from PPC. The methods you mention above do work in some niches but again like you found out you end up getting banned or your content deleted.

The MOST effective way I have found of generating free traffic is building relationships in the niche with authority blogs and guest posting. It takes time to build up though.

Maybe you could hire Jesse Ventura to bang on people's doors and tell them to go to your site....OR ELSE!

But if that doesn't work, there's always the old fashioned way, advertise. PPC, etc.

        • Guest posting and press release distribution should work. You can also register on Q & A sites and offer your expertise. Link back to your site. Consider offline promotion as well. Give away some free stuff with your website address and logo , create flyers and brochures, or offer your services to other businesses or webmasters in exchange for a link back to your site (which will eventually result in more traffic).

If you want to get consistent traffic to your site, you need to provide quality content to your visitors, build subscribers, a list. The methods you use are still good. But they takes time like you need to build a fanpage or twitter with thousands of followers, you need thousands of posts with your signature linking to your site.

PPC or even PPV is the fastest way to get some traffic. Some guys lose money when they start and stop doing it instead of testing and tweaking, eliminating what doesn't work and replication what does work. That's a simple strategy.

I like Youtube traffic, videos are much easier to rank both on Youtube and Google. You can get lots of instant traffic. Try youtube, send your traffic to your site, squeeze page, product.

      Another couple of techniques -

Have you tried press releases? They can bring traffic and also give you valuable backlinks.

Also consider hosting teleseminars (or webinars) regularly, and post them in teleseminar/webinar announcer sites. Again, not huge traffic, but it adds up, and it brings you visibility and name recognition.

I also haven't seen any mention of article marketing. Sure, it's work, but it pays off in the long run if you write quality articles, post them in strategic places, and send people to your squeeze page.

      Good luck!

Right now, I'm seeing great results when it comes to creating youtube videos. Because google owns youtube, they rank videos better than some of my larger sites that I own.

IT"S INCREDIBLE! I was looking at some stats of my videos, and rankings, and they are doing better than most of my articles, blog posts, and heck, anything else I've done in terms of free traffic.

With video marketing great content is key! and so is consistency. If you want to build up free traffic, I would go with youtube right now, and if you need something much faster, you want to look into paid traffic using direct site buys. I created video that shows you how to find targeted, direct site traffic from websites in your target market:

wherever your sharing it is not what

You need to give them what they

I try to write about 5 to 12 articles a day. So, i do not think the amount of content is a problem. But i feel like I am putting out so much work but not recieving a lot of traffic back.

My google referrals are in the high 200s to low 300s and i average about 4 page views per person.

I am recieving 2,000 page views on average, with the most being 4,766. I started the website 3 months ago and have been able to recieve 1.6k facebook likes, and 15,000 twitter followers.

I average 10/day on google adsense. But my growth seems to have come to a standstill.

Even with all the content in the world you need to build a certain amount of authority before Google will send you traffic. Keep building quality content, and start networking with some related, non-competing websites in your market! Also, create social profile pages on Twitter, Facebook & Google+ for your website and post an update each time you post new content. Once you build up an attentive audience of followers they will start linking to your content and this will result in more & more authority flowing into your website. The entire process is explained in this article with an awesome infographic that visually explains the concept.
