Looking to Start from Scratch? Here's some advice.

Happy labor day weekend everyone. Something I wanted to share with those of you who are looking for a new direction in your marketing careers, campaigns, and businesses.

When you are looking to sell something try to find something that can give you consistent income. Like a membership site, like a gym membership. Those are just a couple examples. Try to find something that people are going to keep paying for - month after month and year after year for as long as they keep paying that bill.

Let me tell you: Its nice to get paid residually over and over for something that you just did once.

We all know time is so valuable so you might as well leverage that time by selling something that people have to pay for over and over.

The greatest part of selling something like this is if you decide to stop working you still get paid... And if you decide to get back into the business and you sell another thing that gets billed every month... You give yourself a raise.

Good luck with your businesses warriors.

Long term sucess, similar to IBM's model of renting out computer equipment refusing to sell it to car dealers years and years ago. They made millions of the monthy free with a product, had they of gone retail sales they would of struggled. I've always invested my business in long term planning that keeps the income steady regardless of the market.

Monthly residual income is nice. If you can get automatic payments each month, this would be a good place to be in.

Totally agree with you. Also, keep your customers happy and they'll keep coming back every month.

Even if you're selling physical products try and go with something consumable that builds a regular customer base - e.g. health foods. It's something that your customers are going to be buying on a regular basis, not once-off.

    Chow chow,

      Kevin,

True health foods are something people are going to be buying on a regular basis. It's just not something I can trust that if I were to walk away from my business they would keep buying forever. Something like ie. home security, or phone service are some things that people are going to need to keep paying monthly forever. They are services that you don't even need to worry about if your customers stay happy. They simply like your service because it is the most affordable. Try to find something to sell like that.

It depends on how much you get paid and whether or not the income is going to be reliable in the long term.

Sometimes it's best to go after a higher one-off payment.
