Finally i have started my own blog on Wordpress. Up to now I have been working as an article writer for a web content company. Now I am looking to step into the territory of freelance writing (any word on how good it is?).

Here is my Blog http://chronicbackpain9.wordpress.com/.
It's about chronic back pain; a condition I am suffering from for a very long time. I'll consider your all valuable opinions on how my blog is like. I know, the content is few, only had published 3 posts so far.

You really should get your own domain. Chronicbackpain9 isn't a good subdomain. Also, try hosting wordpress on your own server - you get more customization that way.

      Hello,

I see what your doing and your blog is pretty good.

You do need to get your own domain name for sure.

Where are you getting traffic from?

Considering you have just started, firstly get a domain and hosting, look professional. I hope you are familiar with SEO, do some keyword research before you start writing to get some SE traffic. Build your twitter page and fanpage, grow your followers. Make youtube videos for more easy traffic. These are just few to get you started. Also, get a nice theme.

indeed, get your own domain/hosting, that way it's easier for you to rank.

As the others have said, get your own domain and hosting.
That way you've got full controll of your content.

You can't make money with that blog as wordpress does not allow any affiliate program in their. better start blogger if you can't afford a domain yet..

Get your own domain $10, get your own hosting $5/month, Install wordpress. And begin your SEO and content development process. It's going to be tough for you to rank that subdomain, and it's just not brandable or something people will remember..

Everybody is giving you good advice here - make sure that you get your own domain before going any further.

Building your business on a platform that you do not control can be a HUGE mistake.

If you can crank out content regularly (ideally every day) and do some keyword research and on page SEO, you should start to see some traffic from google.

Also, consider adding some videos to increase user engagement and reduce your bounce rate.

I disagree with the others. Blog for at least a month before you invest cash. Blogging gets tedious and you may run out of ideas quickly. Plus you can always export and import your posts later.

If those articles rank and then you move them to your own domain, you will lose the rankings and start over again. I would buy a cheap domain and some hosting asap. That way you can monetize the domain, offering back pain products and it will make money. Unless of course you just want to blog, but why would you be on an IM forum if you wasn't interested in your talents earning you money? Its a great start anyway, keep going.

Do you have any plan of writing an informative ebook about chronic back pain since you have personally experienced it?

And yes, you need to get a domain and hosting. You might want to consider getting an adsense account as well to monetize your blog.

    Cheers,

I'm afraid it isn't "your own", really, and that may be the problem.

Have you read wordpress.com's terms of service?

If you ever try to monetize it in any way, or even just use it to generate traffic or links to another site, they'll just remove it.

This is one of the problems at wordpress.com and blogger.com and is part of the reason why internet marketers should avoid them.

If you need free hosting for a Wordpress blog, there's plenty available where you can still have your site self-hosted, own and control it yourself, and not have any of these problems - and no need to pay anyone anything for it.

I have used blogger sites on different accounts to create some great links back to my money sites - it's all web 2.0 in the end. Wordpress don't allow links but blogger do.

Just don's use them for actual money sites - simply because you can't really. But for links - great stuff

This isn't your blog at all. You can not make money with this blog. But if you are a starter than you can continue with it.

My first impression from a visual standpoint - it looked to be rather professional with lots of content but perhaps a bit boring to look at. The picture in the header is too small to really get noticed. At the bottom of the page is a very good "x-ray" picture. Perhaps that pic should be above the fold. Sites that immediately look interesting and cool will hold a visitor longer.

    hello,

look great but you should've have your own hosting (recomand Hostgator , the baby plan free the first month and then $9) . Because this way you can monetize your site with adsense, links, affiliates links and you can pay for your domaine name ($10 a year) and the hosting.

    Anyway good start.

Wow, you have a lot of content within the articles! Consider pulling out some key points and make them larger with h-tags. It will break up the blocks of smaller text, and your reader will be able to quickly scan down the page. Also, those points will help catch your reader's eye. (Not to mention the SEO benefits...) Good luck!

    Thanks for all your advice.

The majority of them tells to get an own domain and webhosting. I know that is the right thing to do if I am to really monetize the blog. Like I said, I just wanted to get a feel of how freelance writing is like, how blogging is like and how it's like to have my own site (well...not my own exactly).

I believe I have enough knowledge in internet marketing to do as you all recommend; yes, I am ready to jump into the water and start swimming.

I get most of my traffic from naming my posts with long tail keywords that are easy to rank for but still get some traffic. You may want to develop a strategy to naming your posts and targeting keywords you want to rank for. there are many programs on the warrior forum that can help you with that.

Definitely get your own domain/hosting - you can purchase some really nice themes from WordPress that look very professional for little money. Great start - I bet you feel great knowing you finally have it up and running.
