I've just got a nice big ad in the middle of my Facebook page.

Sorry, it's not an ad it's a "Post I Might Like" from a Facebook sponsor with a nice big 'Like' button.

What do you think? Will FB putting ads in the middle of people's conversations backfire?

As Facebook struggles to grow profit, we'll see more things like this happening, it's only a matter of time. That could be really frustrating for a competitor to start landing up on a businesses Facebook page and steal traffic away..

    hello,

yes you can put ad now on facebook when updating your page. I was supprise one month ago when i was about to post a link on one of my FB page, to see FB asking me to Pay X amount if I want the post to be seen by X amount of people. for maketer it's not bad though if you know how to target your potential buyer on FB.

I think they have been doing this for a while now, but I have noticed more ads recently so I guess they are trying to make more money

It's quite interesting to think about the updates that Facebook will be doing. I think it's possible to try to develop their ads and stuff.

EDIT BY MODERATOR: Why does your location say "Chicago" when your IP is in Romania?
I'm staying in Romania for a while but I'm from Chicago, is there a problem?

One thing for sure is we'll be seeing them go harder at trying to monitize the site more.. Thanks to their stocks dropping, we're seeing the true value of of the site, and Facebook knows they are under pressure. Not to mention all the bad PR from fake accounts and poor PPC.. All in due time..
