They have some pretty cool plugin that is that decide to give for free
One of my favorite is the opt-in form adder that is able to add opt-in form at the end of "EVERY" post you make. Another plugin i like is the Ping optimizer. It will help you prevent excessive ping resulting from a "Ban" from valuable pinging service.

    Smart Update Pinger
Akismet - Or another comment spam plugin

Make sure to deactivate the wordpress-automatic-upgrade plugin once up to version 2.7. It's part of the core now.

      These are some great plugins!

I'm definitely going to check this one out.

I would be wary of using too many plugins. The more plugins you have, the more security holes you have.

Stick to a few that have a good reputation and are regularly updated.
Yeah, I'm trying to keep the number of plugins I use to a minimum. I have a little bit of "plugin fever" right now but I'm going to limit myself to about 5.

You got to have a good Stats plug-in too. For some reason the basic one isn't tracking at all despite what it says.

Anybody know of a good Must-Have stats tracking plug-in?

For SEO, try Headspace2. very powerful. Also, Cforms is really handy.

Also, another really useful one (especially for autoblogging) is alinks. It inserts affiliate links for any url or amazon.com on words that you specify that show up in your blog posts. you can specify as many words or phrases that you'd like.

I'm using it to link to CPA, clickbank, amazon and whatever else works. So each blo post is sprinkled with affiliate links. not too many, just a few. You could also use gocodes I guess to cloak those links if you wanted. I think if its just one or two per post it probably not a huge red flag.

A few years back I remember paying $47 per month for a script that did this automatically, now its free with alinks and wordpress. You just can't beat the power of wordpress these days.
