So what's a good email open rate?

i'm hovering around 19% for one niche, is this decent?

      It can depend on the niche. It also depends on how you got your list. If it's all highly targeted, unsolicited, opted in, and your emails have highly relevant content, then I would have hoped for higher.

      You are aware that some emails will be opened but you won't know that?

    I find mine vary dramatically from one list to another it purely depends on where it came from.

    For example my main list with my internet marketing subscribers stands at between 35-45% and is always sent out at the same time on a saturday. Even though i do find that some take three days to open it.

    On my food niche i get a 20-25% open rate but whenever i offer anything to them i get the highest click through and sales rate of any of my lists.

    Ive also had great sales from football related niches with a list of just 100.

    Plus my mailing list that came from giveaways is rather low with a 10% open rate but they still buy and when added with my other lists they dont actually bother me that much.

    Curious though at your 19% what niche is it in - im way too noisy!!
