What's Wrong With Hostgator Affiliate Manager?

I made enquiries on Sunday about a method which I would like to use to promote my affiliate link and up till now, not a single reply have gotten from them.

I had to do this because on their TOS, it's stated that except given permission to carry out certain promotion, though what Intend to do is not clearly stated on their website and that's why I contacted them.

Whatever it is, whether yes or no, one still deserve an answer, right?
I don't know what's taking them so long.

I am just trying to becareful because of what I have read about their affiliate program.

So.. You mean you asked yesterday?

Give it some time. Today is Labor Day in the US so they might not be open.

Also, they deal with TONS of messages each day. So again it will probably take some time. Just be patient.

Dude, freaking relax. It's a national holiday here in the US. If you don't hear anything by the end of the week you can be justified in posting this crap. Otherwise, relax.

No offence, but by the end of this week? Company that big with that much money HAS to reply within few hours. 24 hours is the maximum deadline on any day of the year, even if a natural disaster happens where the offices are. There is simply no excuse for online companies not to reply within 24 hours, if they can't do that, their customers should say "thank you" and move to a competitor.

I've never had to wait a day for Host Gator to respond

Additionally: Go to their front page and they have an option for "Live Chat". You'll receive a response within instantaneously to 15 minutes depending on the amount of people asking questions.

As for marketing their affiliate program, they're pretty open as to what you can do. If it's White Hat, you'll be fine. If It's Black Hat, you really shouldn't have to ask.

This isn't a tech support request by a hosting customer, it's a business development proposal.

That means it needs to be reviewed by management and, depending on the request, by the company's lawyers.

No, "answer within hours or we go elsewhere" is not reasonable. Believe it or not, most companies' management teams and law firms are not available for a conference at 3AM to discuss whether they want to be associated with Joe Smith's plan to bundle hosting with free ebooks, or whatever other incentive he was planning (as incentives are the only part of the affiliate contract that specifically says you must ask for approval).

Dan ,thanks. I didn't realised that it's holiday over there. So, pardon my ignorance.

Dan, I had to take this step before I go over to start my promotion because I have heard that they don't pay their affiliates and most people don't say what went wrong or why hostgator didn't pay them.

I just want to make sure that they agree with what I want to do. It's not black hat but offering free website set up. I have read about some people doing it here and they say they were successful but someone also cautioned that hostgator is against such practise. That's why I decided to take the matter to their door step and I am still waiting for their reply.

Seriously, I don't care if I have to wait till 90 days to get paid as long as they add up.
