What's your Ad Budget?

Hey Warriors,

Following on from the thread, roughly, how much do you normally allocate for advertisement campaigns? (PPC, PPV, Solo Ads, Banners, etc)

I know that certain offers may require higher or lower budgets, however let's use a "quality freebie" as a front end example to build a list.

Do you splash a lot or a drop?

I look forward to seeing some responses!

I think it's impossible to give a specific number here. My recommendation would be to follow these 2 guidelines:

    1. Start small, and extremely targeted & scale up. The more targeted the keyword phrases or advertising opportunities the better they will convert.

    2. Track & test each paid advertising opportunity independently. Just because one isn't profitable doesn't mean another won't be!

Agreed! However when you create a new campaign, you must surely have some sort of idea on how much you are going to spend on advertising? Business is all about having a plan of action, and advertisement is a big part of that plan.

Nonetheless, I agree fully with what you said about being targeted and scaling up. Tracking and testing is a massive part of my business, constantly testing! Speaking of which, yesterday I bought a Tracking Software called Demon Tracking from the WSO section. It's all set up, all that's needed now is for me to setup my campaigns. Looks a solid tool

    Too many variables.

It doesn't just depend on the offer for me.

    - How many ad images I want to test.

    - What the traffic source is.

    - How many LP variations do I have.

    - How am I targeting the campaign.

    I could go on forever.

Hmm, what I am trying to say is surely you have some kind of idea on how much money you have allocated to your traffic sources? Otherwise you will be forever throwing money at the campaign.

Say you've set aside $200 for your ad campaign, you would normally divide that up into sections that you will use to test those variables.

Many people construct an action plan before they get stuck in with a business project which normally consists of expenditures, research, etc. I know a lot of this depends on the variables, but you normally set aside a budget to cover those variables right? Or do you have a self-replenishing budget?
