Hi everyone

This is my first post on WF. Forewarning - It might b a long one.

I recently started Affiliate marketing, using Pot Pie Girls One Week Marketing using Squidoo lenses/free webpages. I followed the instructions. I was convinced that if i got the traffic, and by entension the clickthroughs (hops?) the sales would be made.

Now, after five months, i have around 1000 visitors a week to my lenses/webpages. I also have 1200 hops. But no sale!! The products are related to the KWand i have over 120 hops per order form impression. My order form impression count for five of the products is 1,2,1,5,2 and the other two products don't have any hops per order form impression. Clickbank would tell me if the sale had been made wouldn't ir?

Was hoping that a single sale would inspire me to get more productive, but if i cant get a 1200/1 conversion rate what's the point? The hard part was supposed to be getting the hops, right?

Anyway i'd really appriciate it if some one took the time to quickly run through the hops, order form impression jargon and any advice on how to otherwise take advantage of the traffic would be welcome( adsense can't be used on squidoo)

Cheers

yeah the hops just means that...someone clicked on your cb link and landed on the offer page.

Order form impressions means that they clicked on the order now button at the bottom of the sales page.

Listen man.....you cannot get discouraged from traffic that didn't convert from a squidoo lens. There are many variables to consider when trying to drive traffic to an offer page.

One of the main things to consider....is if the traffic you're driving from your squidoo to a cb product is related...and offers a benefit ....to the person who started on your squidoo lens.

Instead...try looking at affiliate marketing like this. Find those out there online....who are looking to solve a problem of theirs. Whether that's getting out of debt, acne, weight loss, personal growth....etc...and simply get in front of those people and steer them to the solution.

    They will buy.

Without knowing too much I'd say two things:

    1. What kind of traffic are you getting?

For example are you getting people looking for your product, looking for free information or looking to buy? Have a quick search here for "buyers keywords" which will give you some idea to the intent a visitor might have.

    2. If you are attracting the right kind of traffic (ie. buying traffic) then it might be worth looking at the product. Test an alternative Clickbank product, look for an alternative type of prdouct (maybe they don't want a digital product) or maybe a CPA offer.

I think it's probably due to the type of traffic you're getting. Either not targeted or not people interested in buying.

On a plus side you're getting decent traffic so it's definitely not all doom and gloom. Just phase I or the education that is experience.

I agree with this statement. You are going to want to try a different related product till you find one that converts well. It is all about trial and error, but it sounds like your off to a really good start congrats!

Find one that converts well and the sales will start coming in.
