Hi well I hope this doesn't reveal stupidity on my part ingnorance I'm okay with as I'm new Well the University of San Francisco is now offering a online complete IM "master certificate" course. After looking into it I discovered it is $6k and they tell me it doesn't even qualify for students to recieve federal financial aid. The only reason even considered it is it seems to offer everything in one place that I have seen offered by IM "Gurus" online, but not all from the same location. Do any of you know of any place that office such a complete coarse online that would be worth my while as a complete newbie. The USF coarse includes social media, internet law, google certification, SEO, creative development, viral, affiliates, a/b testing, mobile marketing, choosing an agency, web analytics certification, and email marketing. I'm not asking for opinions about the USF coarse I'm asking whether there is some other single point of contact to get the same thing cheaper. Or any actual factual knowlege of the USF course. Nothing like that couse is stupid... a waste of money... unless that is occompied exactly why and specifically were who who else besides the obvious WF I should learn from. |

Get a mentor. You learn more in the trenches than you do from that stuff. Want to learn about split testing? Read Drayton Bird's book and then read what Google has on it. Do you really need to spend $1000s on something you could teach yourself with a little reading? SEO? hard, no. Tedious? usually. Rocket science? hardly. Mysterious to illiterates? yeah. Want your own business? Find out what people want. Devise a compelling way to get them to see and understand your offer, sell to them, and assess your numbers to see if you made money. Wash, rinse, repeat. IMC course is okay. It's very general, trying to cover the whole internet. I think it's mostly good for people who have a business already and want to move their interests online, or for people who are so paralyzed with confusion they need to go through reams of content to make a decision. IMC coaches people in a model that in general is similar to what SBI teaches... look long and hard for an easy niche with money in it. I differ there. The real money is in the competitive niches, not the undiscovered "secret" ones. |

I think the real difference here is that the course offered by USF is an actual, accredited university Master's Certificate. Not that this means the material is any better, but that if someone requires some sort of paperwork or pedigree for a corporate gig, it's going to be viewed by the suit in the corner office as being more credible than a guru or other alternative... AGAIN, not because the education is any better or more effective. In fact, it's probably NOT. But it carries a brand label name. |

IMC is more broad than general. There's a big difference. And it will help traditional businesses come online sure. But it's not primarily for this and can be applied to any model. As far as "reams of content" that's exactly the point. A new entrepreneur can get a thorough, comprehensive guide in one place without falling into the trap of subscribing to 100 different ezines and soon being overwhelmed by dozens of recommendations for the "best system" every day. A lot of people downplay IMC because it lacks the shine and glitter of many other less grounded programs. But the fact is one only needs the solid basic fundamentals to succeed online and that's part of the problem... Everyone is looking for something grand and complex when it's simply not necessary. Following the guidelines in the core IMC course will virtually assure success for anyone who takes it seriously, applies themselves, and remains focused/committed to their goal of success. Again I know I'm really drumming it up here but I have to be frank: I am beyond sick and tired of the outrageous nonsense that passes for B2B information in the home business sector and I will be recommending only a few quality resources from here forward. That's an excellent point for people who do need the official certification, etc. | |

I can recommend a free course - This Forum! It is a course in itself and contains a wealth of knowledge that sometimes isn't even found in expensive guru courses. (just my $.02 )IMC's course is good also though! |

Yeah - I'd recommend setting aside a few weeks, buying a pass into the War Room ($39) and sit down and read, read, read.

Wow, Tim -- that's a fantastic testimonial for us! Thank you so much for the kind words! We are kinda proud of all the work we put into the course. And it's available online this year, as well -- that makes it extra convenient for many of our users. I'm also putting in a vote for IMC. If it wasn't for IMC, I never would have started my own website last year. I think it's great for newbies, especially their do-it-yourself website builder called Bebiz. They really break it all down and make it easy to understand. Do they try and sell you a lot of their products? Yes, but IMO it's all high quality stuff. It may not be for everyone but I recommend them to anyone looking to get started in IM. |

I've worked with a lot of people who have had Marketing degrees, but not IM. One thing that I have noticed though, The ones with the degrees never match the ones who were self taught. I believe you can teach yourself more and in a much quicker time frame than you will learn from spending 3 years at college. |
