Anyone skip over free traffic methods and start with paid methods?

I'm interested in media buys as it relates to IM. I have no desire to do SEO/free,slow traffic methods, It's just too time consuming.

Anyone skip over free traffic methods and start with paid methods?

Certain methods work better for different people, depending on your budget, the time you have to spend, and how fast you want to get traffic. I used PPC initially to promote brand awareness, and to start getting instant traffic, then i also did SEO in my spare time to start getting passive traffic. I think its always good to diversify your traffic sources.

I start all of my campaigns out with paid traffic first, once I know it is optimized and converting well then I will begin free traffic.

There is no point in wasting time in free traffic if you don't even know if your offer is going to convert.

      This is extremely sound advice^^^^^

I was talking to a gentleman that offers consulting for owners of the SiteBuildIt platform. I asked him why do so many people buy SBI but fail.

He stated, one thing that Ken Evoy doesn't tell buyers is, test your keywords FIRST before creating content. What happens is, people do all of this KW research, start writing 200 pages of content and than they get frustrated after 6 months and ON LY $60 total in Adsense earnings. They should have never written the content to start with. They should have tested to see if the KW's convert, than create content.

Thanks for posting NB. I hope people read your post.

Starting with paid traffic on a small scale is usually one of the best ways to find out if the niche your in is actually worth the time trying to generate free traffic.

Also, you can test out your landing pages with paid traffic.

I am referring to PPC, not anything else, but I assume it would work the same way.

Test, if your converting ramp it up, and then start building long term free traffic.

Keep using paid traffic until the organic free traffic can replace the paid, and then all the profits yours....

My wife does this, and does it well.....

This is actually very interesting. Never heard of anyone mention this before.

I started out using free traffic strategies with the goal of moving over to paid.

Right now I use banner ads, and am just starting to research PPC, because that is what I want to move into next.

Now I am going to add this to my goals as well, the whole Idea of building up my free traffic strategies along with paid, until my free traffic strategies are outdoing my paid, it's a great idea, because once you get to that point you will have a built your brand.

Steve is right on, test with paid, find a winner, move long term to organic.

Remember, free ain't free when it comes to organic. Because your time is not free correct? Building up a loser in organic is way more costly than using paid methods and controlling costs.

I think you should try using both as paid traffic could become very expensive!

You know, you shouldn't just skip over something, especially with Wordpress and seo plugins. I mean yeah it will take an hour to download and set them up but the traffic you will get later on will be worth it. Rotate your aricles once a few weeks and insert a new one about every month. Heck if it gets you 100 views a month its worth it.

Now I like free traffic though and paid traffic. Free is of course better.
Paid traffic I use that works is PPV, CPM, PPC with the right network. Forum and Blog posters.

Free ways I use to get traffic,
    Ad Swaps
    Videos
as well as me posting on forums and blogs.
