I`m looking someone (not necessary a professional) to read and record the text for my screencast video .

Anyone knows where to find someone for affordable price ?

Just go to fiverr and have someone read off the lines.

    • thx for suggestions

what you think will be better - the British or American guy ?
(I`m base in UK , but targeting US audience will also be good)

How it will be percived - US accent in UK or the opposite ?

I say go with a british/australian accent, since you're targeting the US for your customers.

Yes, I realize this disqualifies me as the voice talent since I'm american.

BUT for some reason, we (americans) seem to love british/australian accents.. I know I do.. lol!

I guess its because its something we don't hear too often? Who knows..

Either way, no matter who you choose, make sure they have a clear voice & can be understood perfectly.

    Hey OP,

If you're looking for quality voice talent, you won't go wrong checking out Voice123.com. They have hundreds (thousands?) of people to choose from with various different accents. One of the best things is that they allow you to upload the script you'd like them to read from and, within 24 hours of posting, you'll have at least 10 people reply with a sample from your script, so you can hear exactly what they sound like reading your words!

On a side note, finding voice talent for projects is one of my most enjoyable things to do for work...

I think there are a lot of voice actors offering their services on fiverr, so you should definitely check there.

Or follow the recommendations for MissTerraK.

You can find a voice actor at any freelancing site like eLance,Odesk,vWorker,Guru,Freelancer or Fiverr.com

There are some pretty good voiceover artists at the "Warriors For Hire" section of this forum too.

You can look on oDesk or Freelancer.com to find a voice actor. Also fiverr is a good choice.

I use my local radio announcer.
He picks up the scripts, and has a few people work with him to provide extra voices. Radio announcers get paid peanuts and will do voice work.
An hour of voice work costs me $35. A real steal.

Fiverr is good for a small job, but if you're going bigger then I agree with getting in touch with your local radio station.

There'd be some local Radio DJ's who could do an hour or so worth of recording for under $100.

As soon as you start looking at voice artists (they are the next level up because they often can do character voices, impersonations etc) - they'll hit you up for $250 + for a couple of 30 second scripts.

If you want a straight announcer read then go for a DJ, much cheaper but still good quality (and they'll probably use their studio work facilities to record it as well - bonus!).

    Good luck!

The suggestions above are really good. I'd like to add one more source that you could go to for outsourcing. Try Outsource Factor. We have several freelancers listed. You can hire someone, even if you're on a budget. Hope to see you there

Since you are wanting a man Ms. Terra won't do so my first thought is naught. Don't go to outside sources until you have given the WF a full shot. The more we can use Warriors the better the community will be as a whole.
