How to seperate buyers/sellers into autoresponder

I'm involved in a new website project that will collect visitors details via an opt in however they will be seperated into buyers and sellers automatically. I need to then tie an autoresponder into that automatically so I have 2 'lists'. Can this be done 'pff the shelf' or do I need a script writing to do this?

    I use GetResponse.com for this.

You can have the user signup to a free list, then once they become clients they will become members of a new list and removed from the old list.

It's a great way of separating them.

    I use Aweber for this.

You can go into "My Lists" tab and click the "Automation"
button. Once you are in there you can set an action, such
as make it remove from the free list when they are added
    to the customer list.

I use a stand alone system Bypass Publisher. It uses the a removal feature to do this. First on the free list and when added to the buyers list through a purchase they are then removed from the free list.

    It works great.

Thanks guys. However maybe I didn't explain this right. Basically on the website there is an opt-in. Based on what they enter they are then automatically seperated as a 'buyer' or 'seller' into a database. From that info in the database I'd like to automatically have 2 lists to match ie. 'buyer' and 'seller'. They'd get a different autoresponse based on whether they were a 'buyer' or 'seller'.

    Rich,

What opt-in systems / email responders are you using at present? I can probably help you out on this - feel free to drop me a PM if need be.

    Hi Rich,

Maybe you are talking about a "filter". I believe that you can set a filter so that whatever they state on the form will auto-fill a subject line then based on the subject line the filter will read where to put them.

I can't remember the code but do a search for "subject line auto-fill". It's a simple script that you put into your email form.

I'm rusty with this so I could be off but I think I'm close enough that you should find this information.

    Hope that helps a little.

    Matt
